Default I am so stupid. I really don't want 'this' to continue...

Long story short, I'm 5 weeks pregnant. It was a one night stand and neither of us want a baby together. I deserve to be judged and that's fine, Ill cop it.

I rang an unplanned pregnancy support line and was clearly a pro-life organisation.

I rang an abortion clinic and it's going to cost $600 for a medical abortion and not much less for surgical but then I'd have to wait to be far enough along to choose that option! I'm not in contact with the person I did the deed with. I don't have access to that kind of money and I can't afford a baby either.

I can't support a child in any way. I know there are options but I know abortion is the best option for me.

Why did the Gillard government make the RU486 pill affordable but not allow it to actually be prescribed to people. All I can find are clinics with hefty fees and no places offering the susudised pill.
Please tell me there are places that exist and how I can access one.

    Thank you

Have you been to a GP? I'd say they could point you in the right direction?

    Hugs!

If you are in Sydney try The Private Clinic. They are much better than any other and much cheaper than what you have been quoted. I was considering abortion and they quoted me $320 up to 12 weeks (surgical) and you get roughly half of that back from Medicare. I believe that they could do it at 5 weeks also. No one is judging you sweetheart *hugs*. And if they tried id be judging them for being heartless a**holes for trying to put the boot in when you are obviously down.

Thank you so much. I'm in Qld. Being Sunday the local doctors are closed and google is getting a workout this morning (did a test last night after I realised I was late), did another this morning and yep it's the same. I appreciate the info. I will go to FPQ now and book in with a GP tomorrow.

Does anyone in your family know and could they potentially assist you financially? I don't mean to raise a child, I mean to help you afford a termination.

    Whereabouts in Qld are you?

Also have a look at the qld health sexual health clinics.

I know it's them and FPQ in my town that do terminations.

also so probably the last thing on your mind, but whilst your there get an STI check as well.

If someone is saying they can't do a surgical abortion at 5 weeks that is BS. A surgical abortion is just a D & C and is regularly performed on pregnant at 6 wks (which is what you would be by the time you got an appt), and even on non-pregnant women to help manage endometriosis.

Many clinics offer financial help to those who can't afford it so keep asking around clinics. I have had a medical abortion and I would say that it was expensive but absolutely the best experience I could possibly expect from an abortion. It was private, and felt more "natural" than going in for surgery.

    Good luck.
