I would have given him an earful and told him to p. off. Sometimes older people have less manners than younger ones.

My dog would have flipped. She's very protective of us. Heck, I would have flipped.

Silly man is lucky your dog didn't do any damage.

Some people are so caught up in their anger it's sad. Hopefully you don't run into him, or anyone like him, again.

Firstly, his reaction was completely unacceptable .... but I would never expect an elderly person to have to step off a path for myself and a pram much less a dog. Falls are a very big issue for older people, because they can be very unstable on their feet, have impaired balance, feet and gait problems, pronounced muscle and bone loss and a simple fall can cause serious fractures which can cause them to lose mobility and independence that they may not recover from. Ground that looks fine for us to walk in may be a danger to an older person. But he was still a rude bugger who, for the purpose of this exercise, I hope has some kind of dementia causing personality changes.

How much of the path were you taking up? Did the old man have room to squish past you on the path?

I would have had my dog walk off the path and left the pram mostly on the path.

I see where SPG is coming from not sure I agree though. I've seen many footpaths that have bumps and cracks in them moreso than the nature strip. And if the old fart couldn't survive a bit of a bump here and there then perhaps he shoudnt have been out walking alone.

I think the old mans response had more to do with control and just being cranky rather than his own safety.

He had room on the path, granted not much but I made the best effort I could. There was a front fence and I was squished up against it.

He was old but certainly not frail, hence his ability to pick up and swing my dog lol!

I saw him again this morning storming up the road along the same place.... I panicked a little and crossed the road confusing my dog and struggling up the gutter with a stroller. Awful to feel intimidated but better then confronting an angry nut!

Edit: I might have to change the timing of my walk...
