    Default Dealing with separation anxiety

    Ds 3.5 is really struggling.

Dh has been working away since April. He comes and goes every week. He's mostly away from home.

Nannas gone on holidays for 3 weeks.

Mum (me) goes to work 3 days a week.

Ds is distraught. I can't move without him getting upset.
I understand the triggers for it but I don't know how to help him cope.

I took leave off work this week just to calm him down.

He's gone from loving preschool to absolutely crying the house down. I can't seem to console him. And the school's great, but it just doesn't help.

    How do I help him?

Pls help. It's hard to watch him be so upset

My 3.5yo is doing the same (but no one has gone away), he looses it if I leave the room and has to hold my hand or clothes as I move from room to room - it's doing my head in as it's been going on for a while. His paed says it's related to anxiety as he becomes more aware of the world. I don't have any solutions yet as I'm waiting to see someone to discuss it further.

    But hugs, you're not alone.
