Annerley, DH has high abnormal sperm and antibodies in both tail and head. FS said IVF is our only option as to fall pregnant naturally will require a miracle.

Ladies, it's official. I'm pregnant. HCG is 162. Not sure if that's high or low. My GP was busy and I just went to pick up the results. I'm 4 weeks 3 days from my last period but I think that level hcg is ok for the first 4 weeks?

Miracle does happen. I also realise that our fertility issue isn't as complicated as others. As far as we know, I'm all good. But we never really know as my friend said they will do more tests after more unsuccessful cycle. I'm forever grateful with this miracle. I also strongly believe the IVF helped. As otherwise my body wouldn't have known what to do.

What an awesome Chrissy present. I'm speechless! Apparently I'm due 29 August.

Riss, how did your procedure go? Thinking of you today x

MiniB!!! YAY!! A natural miracle... amazing! Congratulations! I am so happy for you! 162 is a very good HCG number Here you can see averages - http://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single

Oh thank you JB!! That's so useful. I was a bit worried that my hcg is low. Do you mind me asking if you have picked an ob? I want to get organised and book one soon but don't know which one to go with

    Congrats Minib
So happy for you- my first beta was 160 at 4wks and the FN said I was VERY pregnant to have those levels early on.
Thanks for giving the rest of us hope, our only issue is MFI too but it's more the number not the quality and I've been told I'm fine- text book uterus apparently.
I called and booked my obs after my second beta results were confirmed, the earlier the better as the good ones book out quickly!
Congrats again, I can't wait to hear about how your pregnancy goes for you

Minib I booked my OB after my 5wk BT, luckily for me he specializes in high risk cases & twins as at 5wks we didn't know it was twins yet. Definitely start looking into one - do you have an idea of what hospital you want to go to? What type of birth you want as these are important things to ask when booking, most importantly you have to be comfortable with whoever you pick! will you have more BTs?

Woohoo Minib! That's a really good first hcg level. I was around that. At the clinic anything above 100 is definitely pregnant! The most important thing is the doubling rate so get another blood test in a few days and then google beta doubling calculator to find out the doubling time. It should double every 24 hours. But with your solid number it should be no problem! I have to say well done to hubby's swimmers. See all you need is one good one!

I have Dr Vicki Nott but she works only from St Vincent's private. I read somewhere you were after somewhere in the south east, she works out of the hospital so maybe too far.

But book your OB around 5-6 weeks to get in as they do get busy.

Keep us up to date with how it's going! What a lovely Christmas surprise. X

    Thanks ladies!

JB, I know which hospital I want to go to so that has narrowed down the ob choices. I have one that I prefer. Will ring on Friday and hopefully she's still available. Otherwise I have 3 more obs that I heard are good too. I think most of them are good. I'm hoping for a boring straight forwards pregnancy anyway. If possible I don't want a c-section, although if ob said I need to then I will. My next BT is when I'm back from overseas so 2 weeks.

Yes Riss, DH is happy with his swimmers. Lol

Ladies, thank you all for the support in 2013. Wishing you all a happy Christmas tomorrow. May you have an awesome day with family and friends xx

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is going well! MiniB - congratulations!!

We had our nuchal scan yesterday - everything seems to be going well at this stage! We were working on being 12 wks & 3 days yesterday but our little 'peanut' measured in at 12wks & 6 days yesterday. 'Peanut' was dancing up a storm in there & it was very exciting to see!

Best wishes for christmas & the new year everyone!!
