Well there's a few of us approaching our due dates in the next week...is everyone ready?

My due date is Friday and I can finally, hand-on-heart say we are 100% ready, as DH & I hung the blockout blind in the nursery this morning. Now if only baby would listen to my vibes!!!

Well...I am being induced on Saturday! ...my OB thinks safer out than in, and I am happy to go with his judgement (that's why I am paying him the big bucks ). Are we ready? Yes! Am I excited? Yes! ...am I nervous? Hell YES!

    how are you going gillie?

    Nearly there Pilbara!

Just had my membranes sweeped. So painful! He can feel her head and 1.5cm dilated. Induction planned for Monday if nothing happens till then.

Have any of you ladies had this done?

    Congrats Gilliebean and family!

I'm definitely not ready, if baby comes early we have the essentials but I think it's better all round if he waits til his due date - I'm not done shopping for his room yet!

Our hospital gave us an info sheet recommending the massage and they said they believe it helps, but I would check with OB if you have special circumstances or just aren't sure.

Rach - I had a sweep last Tuesday, I was 1cm dilated and cervix was forward but had not thinned yet at all. I found it a bit confronting (wasnt expecting midwife to put her whole HAND up there!!!) but the procedure didn't hurt Then again, as you can tell, it didn't work. Apparently they only work for 1 in 3 women. Having another on Wednesday....

And those women probably would have started labour at that time anyway.
