The website you gave is that local or US? I was under the impression all medal pumps where open systems with the exception of the BIG hospital ones as they can be loaned out and worth any where from $700 up. I tried to have a look on their website but couldn't see anywhere that said open/closed or hospital grade. It does say: "IMPORTANT: This product is a single user item. Use by more than one user may pose a health risk, performance questions, and voids the warranty." Which would make me think it's an open system as all closed systems can be used by more than 1 user with all tubes & etc replaced. To some people it doesn't matter open or closed but with the milk being exposed to pathogens in the air I choose to go with a closed system.

I sent Medela AUS an email to confirm if it's an open or closed system. I would never use a second hand one whether from an online purchase or a family/friend.

Sunshinebell - It must be hard but you need to keep on trooping through this as you don't have long now. I'm sure once bub is here your body will bounce back when it's ready. If doc said to keep off your feet listen to them, wish you all the best till then x

Sunshine fingers crossed your normal doctor has seen you today

Lindsay, yes the Spectra is a closed system. The Medela Swing is second on my list, but I like the additional extras of the Spectra like the night-light, bottle storage etc.

Hi everyone, I had a Debbie downer moment last night/this morning which contains TMI:
ive gone back to a gazillion toilet breaks and last night I didn't make it in time I absolutely broke down this morning when my husband caught me remaking the bed
Has anyone else had this or am I the only one that has this issue at nearly 30yrs old??

Oh hun don't worry. Ive had accidents. Its hard holding at different periods of the pregnancy. And you're trying to roll out of bed or pull yourself up of the couch and you just can't move as quickly as you did!
I got over the embarrassment of dh knowing!
I also went through a month early on of peeing when I sneezed
    And then magically it disappeared
Hey I just figured early on.... worse embarrassing things were to come ... and trust me they did and do! im sure dh was understanding.
And as queen of meltdowns lately .... I understand hun. Don be hard on you

Rachel - will be interesting to see what medela say. Let me know

Twocam - yes I looked at spectra but work couldn't get them so for the cost side of things I got the Miomee.

Hoots - TMI alert, I had a bad moment too when I had diarrhea & didn't make it 3 times in the same day . Hubby wasn't home but I called him & we both had a really good laugh. I blame the relaxin!!!

Sunshine - it sucks that u didn't get ur good dr. Good luck with the stockings xx I've been walking around in bathers the last 2 days (at home I should add) as it's been soooo hot so stomach high stockings would kill me. Do u have air-con or fan?

I'm in the third tri today. Yahhhhh!!! I'm now part of the group ahhhh. Not long now

No way am I even attempting it. Next I'll be admitted with heat stroke.
