Haha yeah we caved. At least I know there's no trigger shot left!? So that can't trick me if a line does come up lol now I'm trying to convince DP that it doesn't mean the worse. People can get negatives and then BFP later on. She's feeling doubtful now. Poor thing. I'm fine because I know its unknown if that makes sense. Anything can happen!

From the sounds of it the process takes a fair while before you are actually inseminated. About how long on average? We are planning to be pregnant around this time next year.

Hello everyone hope I can join you all.

I am 35 and DP is 36. We have done three IUIs with unknown donor, me to carry. Third one we got our bfp but had an early miscarriage at 5.5 weeks.
The original plan was IVF after 3 IUIs but as the third one worked our FS wants us to do IUI with injections for a few more cycles. The first ones were natural, no meds or ultrasounds but progesterone support after IUI.

Excited to try again, hoping to start in November. If we do need IVF eventually how much time off work do people take? Is there much warning?

    Welcome flower!

Sorry to hear about your loss. There really aren't words. I do agree with your FS - it's an amazing sign that things are working that you got your BFP and what you're doing seems to be working.

Hi 2mums. welcome. depends on how you are trying to conceive i guess. do you have a donor, are you trying at home, at a clinic, iui or ivf?

Welcome Flower. great news that you were able to have a natural cycle. so sorry to hear the result was a miscarriage.

i'm in the process of doing ivf, and i would say that time off really depends on your clinic. our FS allows us to come in at 5:30am / 6:00am if necessary. which means we are in and back at work before the work day starts. I had egg pick up this week and naively thought that i would only need two days off. one for the procedure and one for recovery. i was wrong i did go back to work for one day, but had today off as well. so all in all, ive had three days off work. im due for transfer tomorrow, but could be delayed till monday. which would mean one more day I think. but once you know your day one of your cycle, its pretty easy to plan for. depending on your work and how much notice they need for you to have leave of course.

good luck with your next cycle xx

Thanks Best Things, it was difficult after going through the ups and downs of cycles, it's so true when people say its a roller coaster! Hoping it happens with iui again for us so bring on the next cycle! You must be so excited to see your little one on the ultrasound soon.

thankyou for the info on ivf C+E, sounds like there is a bit of warning for the timing. Hope I don't need to do it but I like to plan ahead as work is pretty tricky to get time off. Your clinic and Fs sound great, mine opens at 730am and I mainly see the nurses. Hoping you are going well with your cycle, it sounds like you have a good number of embies and it just takes one, fingers crossed for you!
