Threegoes, how are things going?
MsMin, hello and welcome. I'm in a similar position to you, wishing you the best for your upcoming cycle
Twocam, if you are reading, congratulations on the birth of little Leo!
NVB, well done on getting to the top of the waiting list! I hear you on the waiting, it seems like all we ever do is wait
MrsMac, I'm sorry to hear you're grieving and worried too. To put your mind at rest a little, the tests and workups you get at the more expensive clinics (well at least mine) don't include immunes etc at the start. Initial testing includes things like AMH, ultrasounds, semen analysis, tests to see if your tubes are open and uterine cavity is open and clear, thyroid etc. I've had tests for immune factors, blood clotting disorders etc, but this was only done after my chem, which was considered a 2nd miscarriage from my FS's point of view. I was told that this was only done after several miscarriages/ failed cycles. My FS told me that at my age, by far and away the most common reason for miscarriage or failed implantation is chromosomal anomalies in the embryo, and that in comparison other causes like immune problems or blood clotting problems are relatively uncommon. Some clinics like mine do have a recurrent miscarriage program, so something like that might be worth investigating. Just trying to reassure you a bit Getting a second opinion could be incredibly useful too, just bear in mind that popular ones like WDA have long waiting lists. Hope DH comes on board soon. Hope that helps.
Chiefsgirl, hope that Dr M has some good news for you, and that this year brings better luck
Em, how are you going? Hope you had a great holiday!
MrsErin R, Panda, Octoberbaby, Bertie and everyone else reading
AFM - off to see my FS in a couple of weeks, so just waiting for that and the biopsy/CGH results.
