Hi ladies....I have had internet access issues but that now seems insignificant compared to what we are going through now.

We had our 20 weeks scan last week but OB picked up a 'soft sign' that could lead to chromosomal issues. We are being flown to Brisbane tomorrow to see a fetal medical doctor, so I hope to know more tomorrow.

Uncertain times but thanks to Micca, Im keeping sane.

I hope to catch up on everyones news soon but just need to get through tomorrow. I think of you all often.

Sunny I'm sorry you are going through this unsettling time. I don't understand what a 'soft sign' is? I hope things are okay tomorrow.

    Thanks ladies.

Team Panda - I guess a 'soft sign' is a birth defect.

October - We are seeing Dr Greg Duncombe...my OB and Greg have worked closely together in the past.

I read a lot about soft and hard markers before my scan as they were looking to see if any showed up due to my high risk factor (low Pappa). The consensus seems to be one soft marker often doesn't mean anything and they usually right themselves before birth. I know that doesn't take away your anxiety about it, but hopefully they are just being cautious and it turns out to be nothing xx.

PS - My understanding is that it is NOT a birth defect, just that it MAY, (and if everything else looks normal it probably doesn't) indicate an issue.
