Mrs Mac- from my reading in the past it's the fibroids which can pose more problems, I was told by a doctor that polyps shouldn't prevent one from getting pregnant. Good thing you know where you stand. At least all those issues can be dealt with. Will those results be sent to your fs? I hope he doesn't make you do those scans again.
Butterfly-it took me ages to get my af back after a d and c too. It's one of those things unfortunately we have no control over. Then I had to wait for my prolactin to go down. You really need patience with ivf!
Mrs Erin- if you are finding the blood tests stressing you out, then don't do them. I think 4 is excessive. The 6 week scan will tell you everything you need to know. What does your nurse say?
Emski-good luck for Monday. I can't believe how long it's taking to see LB these days. Earlier this year if your cycle was negative you would still be able to see her within 2 weeks. What about asking for a phone consult? I know a friend of mine did 3 fets and during that time had 1 phone consult with her because she couldn't get in to see her. In the end my friend moved clinics, she wasn't happy.

Ann17, my progesterone was 105 so no issues there. Prog pessaries are no fun though! I can understand that they want to check the hcg doubling but I have had 4 tests now and it has doubled as it should each time so I'm not sure why they want to keep testing. I can only assume that it is because it started so low and is therefore still a little lower than average. I believe I will be having scan on 3rd dec and I'll be just over 7 weeks then if we're still going. Fingers crossed.

Emski, I've been thinking of you often and how hard your week must have been. Obviously i hope you get good news on Monday, but if that can't happen then I hope that you get the closure you need because the waiting must be so awful. As for your FET, after my D&C back in May I had to wait until I had a full natural cycle before I could start ivf again. So that was waiting for first AF then another month for the next one and then I started again. Effectively 2 months for me as AF came almost exactly a month after D&C for me. I don't know if all FS enforce that or if it only applies to stims. But, your timing of next FS appointment may work out ok in reality if that is the case?

Just a question for everyone here....have you ever used the counselling services offered by the IVF places? Was it worthwhile? I'm with monash ivf if anyone has particular experience with them.

It's the nurse who's keen that I do them. I think I'll call her to understand her reasons but if they're not really good then I'll push for holding off until scan now.

Hi Mrs Erin- we used them after my mc. I was understandably upset and DH decided to go on a bender. Yes I know, not very mature or helpful. But he wasn't dealing very well with a lot of issues at the time and that compounded with ivf, it all was a bit much. We saw them twice, nice girl but I was embarrassed to be going there unloading our issues on her, especially that he wasn't being very supportive. She dealt with it well. But in hindsight at the time there was a lot going on and we ended up going too see someone much more qualified to talk through all the stuff going on in our lives. So for me they were just ok, but sometimes I think its good to see someone not attached to the institution.

Team panda I think I would like to get copies of my scans for me to take or get my gp to send to FS. I will not be doing anything my GP recommends unless he perchance refers me to a gyno where I would like to hear what they have to say....my main intention is for feedback from FS...I prob dont mind having the scan again as that is still a long way away and I was very early in my cycle...cd9. Of course the unofficial note from the scan was the cervical polyp might be blood clot.

Anyway panda I understand about your hubby. I think its such an intense thing and well I know I am already living and breathing it so after a long time and money and maybe nothing too positive even tough pple would flounder and have a spack. I am very concerned about how long my hubby will tolerate it. He does not have the same longing I do...he has made it clear to me that if its what I want then ok he will come with, but not sure how its going to be when it gets really tough and expensive...he also says if it doesnt work thats ok too which is a good thing as I know im not doing it to make him happy. I am just very careful not to obsess too much around him in case he gets sick of it...thats why im always here moaning...lol. So far he has bin great and very encouraging about the weight loss he walks with me every day despite being 30kgs lighter and a foot taller than me. I think that could be his desire to see me thinner though not a baby. I think I would use the counsellors they would be good for discussing donor egg stuff?

Chiefsgirl I reckon id love to be a fly on my own wall watching myself trying to get off my mini plataeu doing billy blanks tae bo...i am pretty unco and its pretty hard...well I dont move well but a lot better than 2 months ago...

MrsErinR, glad to hear your HCG has increased, congratulations Hope that the next test or scan shows something to put your mind at rest. I've joined a support group at my clinic that the counsellors run, it has been very useful, but has only had a couple of meetings in about 5 months though.

Liveandlearn, hello and welcome! Congratulations on getting a normal embie, you must be so pleased! I also finished a stim cycle with CGH in Oct, and had 1 normal out of 4 day 5 blasties (such a relief!) We're going to be doing another stim straight after Christmas, I would really like a few normal ones in the bank before I start doing FETs. Best wishes for your journey, hope that you get a sticky one soon.

    Kenta, how are you going?

MrsMac, glad to hear that your scan went reasonably well, and you have an idea of what's going on. It's great when you get a sonographer that will at least give you an idea of what they can see. Don't know much about fibroids, but hope that whatever is recommended can be done quickly. Sorry to hear about the plateauing weight loss, hope things get moving again soon, hope that Billy Blanks can do it

Ann, hope your headaches are easing, and little Ann is going well too.

Chiefsgirl, hope the TWW is treating you well, and you're not going too nuts.

butterfly good luck for you FET, hope the au naturel cycle is a lucky one!

Em, thinking of you for Monday's scan, hope little Em has been busy catching up on growth.
I've been stalking the local area adoption thread, and I'm sorry to say the one I went to wasn't any better than what was posted over there. In fact, several weeks after the "course", I'm still quietly steaming. There was a lot of emphasis on BMI in mine too. While it was never said outright, they clearly conveyed the idea that they were looking for ways to exclude potential adoptive parents. The "course" (well to me anyway) was watching a room full of vulnerable infertile people get repeatedly "sucker punched" over multiple days. There were walk outs from my course too. I had previously thought that I might pursue it preferentially to egg donation as a way of completing our family, but not any more.

Bertie, saw on another thread that you have started sniffing, sending you some good vibes for your cycle.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Spring Rain... thanks for thinking of me. Yes, I started sniffing Synarel on Friday (d21). I go to have a pipelle scratch tomorrow (Monday), then go for BT on 2/12 and probably start jabbing that night. I'm doing Dr M's protocol (prednisolone + Intrallipids) for the first time, in conjunction with IVFA's protocol (aspirin, Clexane, Menopur, pregnyl, pessaries etc). In addition, Prof I has agreed to do extra BTs after transfer to monitor levels. This will be fun in the lead-up to Xmas!! I've turned down every Christmas party and event in the next month - feel a bit of a bah-humbug, but I keep reminding myself of the end result, and really don't want to have to sneak out to do injections in carparks, like I have in previous cycles - all a bit stressful to manage.

Wow MGC Bertie that sure sounds complicated, I hope it goes well for you. Do you use all those things at one time in the day or you have different ones at different times?
