Science Weekly Podcast: Female Fertility and Aging
    http://www.theguardian.com/science/a...ertility-aging

Not a lot new here for us oldies but I was talking on another thread saying how I wish I knew years ago what I know at 40 regarding eggs. It does talk about egg quality

Chiefsgirl I will be doing egg pickup without general as well...they told me thats one of the main reasons they like your bmi to be below 35 because its harder to hone in on the follies the us images are not so clear and they cant be as rough while you are awake to manipulate your body into position as they can if you are under. any lasting effects? I must say I am a little bit concerned about that part I am a fair wimp. Hope you get some good ones.

Ann its the way the cheaper clinics keep costs down...I have heard pple say that every time its different...one time it hurts next time it doesnt. You do get something to take and nitrous oxide I think?

    Mrserin any news on hcg?

Re donor eggs mum and I have been discussing at great lengths...hubby not feelin it right now he is more of a wait and see person but I am feeling so rushed and hopeless about leaving things too late it really feels better to have the plan b option there to move the finish line a bit further away and I do feel some relief. In the least its helping with the waiting. Thankfully while mum is all for DE she realises she cant possibly know the grief I feel at the moment about it but having said that she is a mother and has some good home truths about what being a mother is...much more than conception...even the chance to have a fat belly with a baby moving inside is something I have literally dreamt about all my life I do tend to think that I would be greatful for any successful pregnancy no matter how I get it.

Hi Ann, luckily I do have a pretty high pain threshold! It funny because even tho I felt pain at times, the little bit of sedation must have been working because I was calm!

i'm with westmead in Sydney, it's not for profit so while cycles are cheaper they do do things differently like we don't have bt's they give you poas to do at home, you get the FS who is rostered on to do epu and et. We don't see our FS at all during the cycle really, just the nurses, who are lovely and supportive and actually have given me lots of information.

    Hi everyone.

I would never have believed this would happen, but my hcg has gone from 44 to 143 in 2 days. The nurse said we are back on track with that increase, but I'm still pretty nervous and don't want to get too excited. The shaky start makes me nervous. Next BT is in a week.

Sorry for taking you all on my emotional roller coaster this week. I was 200% sure it was over on tue night. Then the hcg of 44 on wednesday seemed to support that.

Looks like there's been some good egg pick ups and fertilisations here. Congrats girls and best wishes for your transfers.

    How is everyone else going?

    X

congrats mrserin. That's a positive as your hcg has doubled so congrats and I hope the test next week confirms all is well.

great news chief about your fertilisation.

I didn't get a day 4 report today so will have to wait till transfer tomorrow to see how they are. I figured no news is good news and was too scared to call to find out otherwise. Having everything crossed for tomorrow.

Yay Mrs Erin! I read somewhere once, the increase is more important than the actual numbers. Hoping things continue to go well with you!
