    I think here in Sydney just about every suburb has a catholic primary school and it's quite easy to get as long as you are catholic ( and they have the space!) but there are some run by certain orders that don't belong to the archdiocese and are independent private Catholic schools that compete against for sport etc with other private schools , are a lot more expensive and can pick and choose who they like - well that's how my friend explained it to me who's daughter goes to an expensive private catholic school - they hate being associated with the normal catholic schools!
