Default Xmas gift idea for family day carer

I am so stuck stuck. I know her well but then don't iykwim.

And she is very important to me. Aside from me and dh she is ds main care giver and as he has no family where we live like a grandmother to him.

All I can think of is a little potted herb like this? And maybe a gift card? She was a chef like me so not sure about food and don't really know heaps about her personal life or interests.

Maybe do some digging? Ask random questions to get to know her more and go from there?

I got ours a really nice tea cup and saucer and some nice tea from T2 last year.

The potted herbs are a nice idea. What do you see when you go into her house? Any things that might give you inspiration?

I was just wondering this exact thing for my son's family day carer - she is AMAZING and goes above and beyond for the kids!

I like the T2 idea (I know our carer drinks tea).

I was also thinking about... a massage or mani/pedi voucher, a dinner voucher for her and her hubby to a nice restaurant, Dendy Gold Class movie vouchers, a quilt (I'm a quilter).

Keen to hear other ideas too!

Didn't you use to own a spice business? Couldn't you make up a gift pack in pretty little jars? I like cooking and I would love that!

Otherwise, a gift basket with homemade chutneys, biscuit, cheeses, handmade chocolates and a bottle of wine ?

We gave ours a plant in a pot that DD painted. Was lovely. She planted the plant and still has the pot. This year she has sent me a few photos of thekids playing. Im going to use one of the photos that has a few of the kids in it and make it into a calender. That and something nice for her.

Love this idea. My mother makes fruitcakes in decorated terracotta pots for Xmas, I may steal your idea and hers and combine the two!
