    Default Real estate help please

We recently moved for DP's work. We're currently renting a house in this new town. The house was advertised with a "$500 gift card for the approved applicant" I am yet to see this gift card despite emailing and calling the property manager many times. Where do I stand with this? The house has been a pain in the butt so far and I'm annoyed that we most likely won't be given what we were promised! Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

Is it a chain real estate or an independant?

If a chain, I would be approaching the manager and letting him know you will speak with head office as your next point of call.

If an inde, I would be speaking with the dept of fair trade.

It's a chain real estate. It ****s me that they advertise these things and then ignore you when you try and ask about it. I have just emailed her again now so we'll see if she emails me back. She ignored my last email.

I'd keep emailing them every couple of days to chase it up. They'll get pretty sick of you asking about it all the time and will probably come through with it.

Copy someone in senior management into the emails to get things moving quicker.

Good luck - it sucks when you have to hound people for something they should've given you in the first place!

I know! When DP spoke to her when he went in to pick up the keys she said something to him like "oh the owners might not want to give it to you yet, some of them are funny like that!" Umm...no...you advertised it as free $500 gift card for the approved applicant!!! DP isn't as forward as me so didn't say anything...😣

Could you contact fair trading for advice?
If they aren't going to cough it up, surely it would be false and misleading advertising?
