    Default BF and fertility

Just wanting to hear some other peoples experiences.

I am BF my 8mo DS and got my first AF pp a couple of weeks ago. We are trying for #2 without actively trying if that makes sense.

Just curious on what people's cycles were like once they got AF back? Were you back to regular? If TTC did you get a BFP easily once AF returned?

I'm not stressing about TTC but just curious really.

DS1 was born in September, 1st period was Christmas day, fell pregnant 28th Feb (only day we dtd around that time).

DS2 was born and I was tandem feeding (so breastfeeding both kids) I think my cycles took a bit longer to come back and they were irregular in the begining, same after DD.

It's pretty normal for your periods to be irregular post baby, depending on your hormone levels as to if you ovulate than you should have a period 2 weeks later. When trying for DD I had some hormone tests which showed I was ovulating.

    Ok thanks.

I'm pretty sure that I'm ovulating at the moment which would work out right with dates. I also knew AF was on her way as I could tell I was ovulating a couple of weeks before she arrived.

Ah well, just wait and see

DS was 9mo when I got AF, straight back into a normal 28 day cycle. Maybe a tiny bit irregular. I was still BFing twice a day when I got pregnant first try and DS was 15 months old.

Sigh. I got my af back when bub was 8 months. We started ttc when bub was 5 months. Af has been mostly regular, long cycles 30 something days most of the time.

Dd is now 19 months and we have been ttc for 14months. No luck yet. Still breastfeeding. Thats my experience, tho others have fallen preg straight after when still fully breastfeeding.

With DS1 AF arrived at five months. My cycles were between 35 and 27 days. We started TTC at thirteen months and fell immediately.

    Good luck!

Thank you all. Some very differing experiences.

We will just wait and see what happens
