Wow, thanks everyone for the updates.
We have spoken with Dr Woolcott for VR and have an appoint with FS next week.
Hopefully after seeing FS we will have a plan/clearer direction.
Success stories seem rare in this situation. Kinda disheartening

Sorry @Ashyfrances, wish I had a success story to share with you but it didn't happen for us But hoping after this round of ICSI! I do know someone who went with the VR and it worked pretty fast but it was only months out from his V.

Just an update, my EPU was moved from yesterday to tomorrow so keeping everything crossed for lots and eggs and even more for some swimmers!

Good luck with both your appts ashy! I guess the thing to keep in mind is both urologist and FS will say their procedure is better than the other for reasons xyz! While it's hard to make a decision you just have to do what's best for you! We are happy we went with VR first, even if it turns out it's not a success😊

Just an update after my EPU on Friday. 6 eggs were collected and as at 24hours all 6 fertilised by DH sperm using ICSI. So the 10k reversal wasn't all for nothing, it meant DH could naturally provide his sample instead of doing TESE. But I still think if I had my time again I would have chose ICSI from the start. I don't think the TESE would have took as much healing as VR and nor might it have taken 16 months just to get here. But everything happens for a reason and I'm praying for a sticky Bfp in a couple weeks x

Hi @Felicia and thank you x

The process wasn't too bad at all and I am SO impressed with my low cost clinic at northlakes. The daily injections don't hurt too much, sometimes you don't even feel them. The worst side affect was a persistent headache but this was managed with panadol. EPU was quite bearable too and the lovely Doc talked me through The whole process while I was awake and I recovered from it so well (compared to when I did IVF donor under general and got OHSS Too).

And the cost is half of anywhere else. Total is $3800 and if enough embryos make it to freeze, it's another $700 to freeze. We were expecting nearly $2000 back from medicare also but the safety net just rose! 😡 so now we are expecting 800-1000 back.

But if we have to do it again or FET at all in 2015 it's only 700 out of pocket because the safety net is already reached (why we chose to start in Jan).

Eagerly awaiting a transfer on Tuesday and to see how many made it (if any).

And thank you I pray I can update you with a BFP soon! X

In regards to being late, I would go to your gp and request an ultrasound. Could be a cyst? I had one last year and a 46 day cycle with it 😁 and they can do bloods to check its def not pregnancy and indicate whee in your cycle you are x

Default Vasectomy Reversal OR ICSI/IVF? Not sure which way to go!

I'm not too sure. I know their services are limited, part of the way they cut costs. And I was so skeptical at first. But now I couldn't be happier with them. I was on the lowest dose possible. I recall you saying you're allergic to the pill but it's opposite hormones so maybe it's just a matter of testing it or talking it out with them. I'm pretty sure it's a free consultation so there would be no harm in trying. They will also test DHs sperm (no ultrasound or anything high tech though. Just an S & N SA).

It is cheap considering other Places are around $12000. We sold a few things to cover it and I'm praying we get a result from what we have.

We live on the Gold Coast but travel the hour and a bit. It was definitely worth the saving. 😊
