Might have just had a double serve of creamy vanilla bean and strawberry frozen yoghurt... oops! It was very yummy though...

    How is everyone else?

I'm on day 3 of protein only. So looking forward to tuna salad at work tomorrow from the canteen.

    Hey you :-)
Don't worry about your second serve of icecream, you should be so proud of yourself! You have done so well.
I'm still chugging along. I really need to get back on track and start taking it seriously again. I'm going through a bit of a can't be f....d phase at the moment But that is life I guess.. I think I just needed a little break from it all. I probably should have just stopped after the first challenge- maybe trying to be strict for 8 weeks straight has done my head in.
I am still making healthy eating a priority but like I mentioned in my last post, I have let go a little.
I plan on stocking up and planning better meals this week- I am looking at buying a deep freezer and want to make lots of batches of stuff like soup to freeze.

Thanks lovely! And right back at you!! The point is that you are still chugging along, you haven't given up... I haven't walked for days and I know that that will be my downfall... I found the first 4 week challenge easier than this one too... but I'm sticking to this one as best I can!

Also we are all in that time of year where everyone is just a bit over everything and it will get harder to maintain this challenge as Christmas draws nearer and as you said, as life happens!

I know that I will probably put on a couple of kilos over Christmas which will suck, but I will up my walking over that period and I will still 'indulge' but won't over indulge as I would tend to do in the past...

... and even if you don't quite get to your last 5kg, the most important thing is, your mind set has changed... your mental state in terms of eating/exercising is what keeps you on track! And we're human, we're going to have days/weeks where sometimes it's just not going to all gel together!

I will stop babbling now, but my point is that you have done amazing, and there's no time frame in which you have to do this... on that note, I'm off to bed!

    A.
    xx

Scales are only part of the journey. How much fitter and more active are you, how has your diet improved? How are the portion sizes? Think of the positives.

As long as you are thinking more about your food choices.

I know sometimes when I allow myself a treat, I walk up and down the chocolate aisle and can't decide what I really really want.

This is so true... Only a couple of weeks ago I was in the city with my little brother and his girlfriend looking for formal dresses for her. We had to walk up this mammoth hill, which only a few months ago, half way up I would have been puffing and struggling to catch my breath! But, I walked up that hill and at the top I wasn't even tired out (that is one thing I noticed); now I am still no where near fit or ready to run a marathon, but I did it and it felt great, especially while my little brother and GF were puffing away saying how puffed they were, LOL...

... it's the small things we notice that keep us going!

I need to start thinking more positively. I do feel fitter; I AM fitter. I have lost almost 15kg this year. I have gone from struggling to take a 30 minute fast paced walk to easily tackling 6km and more.
    I'll get there.
I hate that I have such high expectations of myself :/
