Counting calories and working out meals around it is indeed exhausting!
I have never really counted calories before now (but did do weight watchers for a while which was similar) and I agree its exhausting!
It's definitely not something I want to do long term - hopefully it gets easier once I can start remembering a few of my favourite meals, snacks, etc.

Yeh, after nearly 6 weeks, I'm getting a feel for stuff!!

I need some ideas on how I can eat more fruit/veg as my snacks are good, but they are basically the low calorie version of bad stuff if that makes sense!

    Hit me!

I'm sticking to 1200 calories a day and counteract it with exercise, so if I get a walk in I eat a bit more but no more than the calories I burnt.

What saved me from starving the first few weeks was a boiled egg, they are the best. Only 70 calories... and herbal teas...

I really really hate eggs of any kind.. may try again with eating them though..

I just went for another walk, 3.7km and 194 calories so that's just under 400 calories burnt today

I didn't like them much until I was starving and getting really dizzy and unwell in the afternoons, LOL... you could try them with a bit of cottage/ricotta cheese and ground cinnamon or low fat mayo...

Just did a 3.5km walk (even managed to jog for 300m, LOL), so another 217 calories burnt!

But can anyone tell me, my MapMyWalk app is saying it's tracking in Kcals - now is this the same as calories?

I am glad the calorie counting gets easier Babylove. I am not sure what kcals are sorry.

My goal is 1200 calories a day, but I am still breastfeeding 3x a day so usually add a couple of hundred extra to compensate.

Today had been good until KFC for diner. A treat for DD after the peppa pig stage show and I was starving. I should have thought ahead and brought something with us. Oh well. Planning a walk once kids are asleep if the rain holds off.

Do you mean fruit and veg snack ideas, or meal ideas too?

    Today:
    Scrambled eggs/tomato/spinach
    Coffee
    Protein shake
Wholemeal pita bread with beef, egg salad spread, lettuce
    Coffee number 2
8 squares of chocolate I don't even consider myself a sweet tooth sort of person, so I have no excuse for eating it- except that it was a new Cadbury limited addition raspberry and lemonade flavour! So I said to DH before I ate some, I will only have 2 squares because I want to taste one of each filling- but they were in rows of seperate fillings so I had to eat the whole row to get to the next flavour. It's true!
Dinner- no dinner. I don't deserve dinner
