Default Hyundai Santa Fe or Hyundai IX 35 for 3 car seats 2 adults

Tell me what you think of these cars!!!
So I am still debating the car to buy.
Friends are trying to talk me into a 7 seater for convenience of taking extra passengers
I'm looking for a car that will comfortably fit 3 car seats in the back
I will have a 6yo, 4.5yo and new born to fit into the car

Was originally looking at the hyundai I30

At this stage i'm sticking to Hyundai because I had an I30 and it literally saved my life 2 weeks ago when I was hit head on by a drug affected driver. Combined speed of 120km/h. I'm pregnant, in lots of pain from accident and incapable of making a decision - but need to get back on the road soon!

I think, if it was me, I would take each car and buckle in three car seats and see how it looks. What car will give you the most room? Leg room? Boot space? Do they have air-conditioning in the back? Which model has the better safety rating? Which model has the better fuel economy? Can you get an upgraded model in your price range? If it is all much of a muchness, I would test drive both and just decide on what drove nicer with no problems with blind spots, comfortable seats, good aircond etc.

We have a secondhand diesel Santa fe and absolutely love it.
We live rural and on long trips it has got fantastic fuel economy.
Only have two carseats in the back currently but there is still plenty of room for an adult passenger between them so three should fit comfortably.
I can't comment on the ix35 but my mum has an i30 and I would think three carseats would be squishy as with two adults and a carseat in the back it's a tight squeeze.
Depends on the brand of seats and dimensions.
We have found the seven seats great for carting extra people but just remember that it really limits boot space with the extra seats up.

I have an older Santa Fe 2003 and we can't fit 3 seats in if. Tried but couldn't buckle one in and only a super skinny person could fit in the seat with 2 seats. Not sure if the newer ones are bigger?
Had an I 30 also and sorry but didn't need 3 seats so can't really comment

Thank you everyone. I'm off to purchase 3 new seats as soon as pain subsides enough for me to drive. Then off to try out seats in each car. I'm hoping to fit in a cheaper model than Santa Fe but the seats will decide!

Great idea trying them out first. I would lean towards the ix35. Also you can get some fairly slimline booster seats for your older kids which could work better in getting 3 to go across. Let us know how you get on x

My friend just had her 3rd and bought the Santa Fe.

She said she's really happy with it.

Sorry, can't offer much else though..

If you check out the NRMA website they will have a picture of each car with 3 seats and info about how well they fit and how easy they are to put in and use etc
