Default Pls recommend OBs in Brisbane

    Hello

After 5 years (6 ivf cycles) of ttc, I finally had my bfp! I am only just about 7 weeks so still very early days, nevertheless have to book am OB quickly. I am possibly looking for a high risk ob as iam carrying twins! I have already had 2 bleeds in this week but have been told its not the babies, their little heartbeats are there. Second bleed was extremely scary and I soaked three pads. Again fs said its me otherwise the bubs wldnt have survived. I wld appreciate any recommendations of good obs who are delivering at Mater Private, with great bedside manners! I have a few names like DR Stephen Cattanach, Doug Keeping, etc. but honestly I don't want someone who while being a great skilled and knowledgeable OB is dismissive and lacks people skills.

Thank you for reading. And good luck to everyone at their various stages of ttc journey.

Stephen Cattanach is our OB. He's been absolutely fantastic for us during this pregnancy, we don't know what we would have done without him. He's been great at liaising with our other medical professionals (quite a few complications), and has had a midnight and 2am phone call from us in the ER in tears and you'd never think we'd woken him up.

He sometimes runs late, but he gives every patient the time that they need and never makes you feel rushed or that you're asking stupid questions. And all the midwives love him so that's gotta count for something?

Shadaisy - someone else highly suggested her as well on another thread. There are so many good names it makes it hard to pick one over other.

J181- wow he sounds great. I have read good reviews on him. I hope your complications have settled down, 2am sounds absolutely distressing you poor thing. So how many weeks along are you?

Arrivals obstetrics at the mater are awesome!! I cannot speak highly enough of dr paul bretz.. he took care of me in my very high risk pregnancy. It's a shared practice. . so you can see the same ob for checkups. .. but in hospital you may see all of the obs. I loved them all. Friendly, not dismissive. ..
Google their website you'll find all the info.

We're 34 weeks tomorrow, and are booked in for an elective c/s on October 22 - so excited!!!!

The complications have settled a little but still have quite a few specialists on the go! We actually had a very serious conversation with one of our specialists who said in the public system we would have lost this baby, and EVERYONE is surprised we made it past 32 weeks so that's nice to hear. One other thing about Steve is that he also does fertility, so that knowledge may be useful during your pregnancy. Just a thought.

Dr Bronwyn Byrne she's great! Not too in your face but definitely always available and open to questions and concerns, very calm personality.
She carried us through when I lost a baby at 20 weeks gestation, had complications after that and then had DD with her and now bub #2.
