Default Unhappy and Angry, just not myself...

    Hi all,
I'm only new to this site, so not sure if this has been spoken about recently. I'm currently 16wks/4mths pregnant with my 3rd child. This pregnancy has been totally different to the other 2 to the point where I'm almost wanting to lock myself in a room because I hate getting angry or upset with everyone for minor or no reason. I woke up angry a few days ago with no cause. I was ready to walk out on the father of my child because he "took care of himself" with porn when I was out, I already feel fat and disgusting and that just added to the feeling. I know mood swings are normal but these are out of control. A few months prior to falling pregnant I went off my very mild anxiety meds because we were trying to conceive. Is there anything that can be taken while pregnant to at least tone it down? Prescribed? Natural? Homeopathic? Any suggestions at all would be wonderful and appreciated.

There is a homeopathic remedy called SAMe that is good for anxiety and mood disorders.
My DH takes it for anxiety and swears by it.
From what I've read you can't take it in the first trimester but after that's ok.
Maybe that is something for you to look into?
Hope that's helpful and you feel better soon.

This was me! Third bub...unexpectedly. A huge shock. I was on mild anxiety meds too...citlopram 10mg. I stopped taking them when I found out at 5 weeks but I ended up back on them at 14 weeks as I was just not coping. I was borderline pre- natal depression. I researched the hell out of it first and have a good friend who was the obstetric consultant at our local hospital. She assured me SSRI are ok in pregnancy especially the low dose and she'd just actually done some research on it herself. Medically it was a non issue for everyone and Ds was a healthy and chilled out 4.52kg giant. It was not good for me to be in the state of mind I was so going back on was the right decision. I found no natural treatment that worked. I did try rescue remedy but didn't do anything. PM your email and I'll send you the email she sent me. It explained it all very well. I'd go back and see your Dr and maybe a counselor? ( I did).
ETA: for my own piece of mind I waited until second trimester.

Just to mention my gp who ilove preferred me to not be on the meds and my dr friend said many gp's say that but it's only as they are not working direct inthe field andvthe category of drug that it is. Obstetricians/midwives are fine with it.
