Wow lots of scans and appointments happening over the last couple of days- so glad to hear everyone's appointments are going really well and congrats on a possible team blue Nirok, looks like boys may be starting to dominate this thread. So lovely to hear about all the flutters and the kicks, very exciting for you all who are at that point!

Thanks for the well wishes for my obs appointment, it went really well! We got a scan and the baby is now measuring 3.5cm, which is over double what it was 15days ago. It's also starting to look like a baby now too instead of a blob so that was amazing to see. I only have to wait another 3wks to see my obs again and have my NT scan in the meantime. Oh I was also told by obs today and I'd get my NT scan results on the day of the scan so only 17 more days to go!!

Glad to hear your obs appointment went well too Riss and good luck for yours tomorrow Spidery! How was your obs appointment, Hope?

Excellent KJ, so happy for you. Great that bubba has caught up. Yay for your NT scan next week.

That is great that it worked out well with your boss Orchids. It is quiet daunting telling them, I have four bosses to tell. The three I have worked with for 5 + years and know me and DH well, were so happy for us. My new boss (I changed offices and states) 12 months ago was a bit different but he is anyway.

I also have an anterior placenta, does seem very common.

We are going back to our home town this weekend to visit family and friends. Have only told them over the phone, so will be great to see them in person. Thinking bubba is having a growing spurt, as I am really tired again and having to go to bed super early, also feeling a bit sick again in the mornings.

Is anyone starting to think about the birth and if they will go VBAC or C Section?

Got my blood test results and final risk factor today at the GP. Apparently, my risk for Down syndrome is 1:1230; and risk of Trisomy 18 is 1:1960. Feeling pretty good at the moment. Nothing more happening here until my 20 week scan on the 8th of January 2014.

Excellent news Cat guess there's your early Xmas present

I'm also suffering from 2nd tri exhaustion but this time sleeping in the day seems impossible as my brain seems to be in overdrive. Hoping it will settle after I see bub is fine at OB appt on Fri which I know I'm worried about as still haven't even felt a flutter and 15weeks Sat but sonographer said I would possibly even earlier the 14wks despite being our first due to Juniors position - so I'm worried why I haven't yet? Guess I'll see Fri!

Having grumpy moments too normally around Clexane injection time so hopefully OB says I can stop that now which should help that sit.!

👫 First bub for DH and I after 10 cycles of IVF 🎉

hwaterhouse- glad you got a laugh! Your 19wk scan is so close, very exciting. I hope you start feeling definite movements any minute now. Nice to have another on board team "surprise", it sure does keep the shopping bug under control not knowing!

Arlais- Its nice to get a compliment when we feel at our least attractive. I'm determined to have a surprise this time because we already know the gender of #2 (our frosties are the same sex). Its actually not as hard as I thought to hold out. Naww at your DH, that is adorable!

Nirok- amazing that your OB can give you an idea on sex so early. Yay for flutters! I'm one day ahead of you with posterior placenta and I haven't felt anything yet, I must have given bub too much room to move with all the weight I gained haha.

Jay- thanks for the wiping tips! To solve the undies problem, I'm thinking I'll buy some cheapies to cut them down the side seams, then sew on velcro strips to both sides so I can do them up like a modern cloth nappy . Have fun at the Ob on Fri and hope you get the all-clear to stop clexane.

LMM and Veritas- congrats on your great scan results!

Orchids- yay for getting a positive reaction at work, that is a huge relief! Sounds like great timing since you've just popped .

KJ- Woo-hoo for sailing through the 12 wk scan!

Annerley- so pleased all went well at your OB appointment. Bring on the NT scan!

ABH- Gosh, 4 bosses! I thought one was enough lol. I want to try for a VB, but happy to go c/s if medically necessary. The whole prospect of birth terrifies me so I'm trying not to think about it until I really have to. Have a great trip back to your home town!

    Catlover
    - congrats on the low risk results!

    Hi to everyone else

AFM- Finally bought some proper maternity clothes, but all online so I'm eagerly waiting for the parcels to arrive. I got 2 maxi dresses, a top, and a pair of work pants .

Good news catover on the low results. Ja1y11 good luck with your scan friday and im sure your little one wil be fine, its so hard not to worry though. My friend of a friend who did my sneaky scan yesturdy said i can go anytime so thats reasurrng for me but I may get obessive!! ABH I really want a VB but if I have to have a C-Section then so be it because I've had the burst blood vessel in my uterus I'm thinking they are going to recommend a C-Section but I would really like VB recovery quicker but also just the experience of giving birth naturally to my baby because me and DH don't want to go through the IVF experience again so this will be my only child (well I say that now but who knows in a years time)

    Hi Girls,

I had my 19 week scan this morning and am soooooooo relieved that everything looks good. Like Arlais, my NT bloodwork came back with low PappA but we decided not to do more testing. They said they would check for any markers today and then adjust my risk. I rwally have been feeling sick about it so didn't even mention my scan in here. But.... there were no markers today so I'm now officially 'low risk' 1:450, which I think is still highish but at nearly 40, I'm happy with that. I was seen by the fetal med specialist who was really happy with bub's development and doesn't think the bloods will cause me problems dwn the track but they will monitor the growth with extra scans just in case. I've had a few scare ever since 5 weeks and Zi finally feel like I can breathe a little. My placenta is in the front as well so no great pics, and not strong movements being felt but certainly a few flutters. Oh and we are 'Team Surprise' as well

Hope everyone else is having a good day. There's always so much going on in here, I love catching up on everyone's news

I'm glad things have turned out well Octoberbaby, and you're right 1:450 is very good for nearly 40 - I've seen many ladies with a lot higher risk factor than that.

I'm the same as you, more scans in the 3rd tri to monitor bubs growth, but no expected complications

ABH I'm going to aim for a VB because I want the experience of birthing as naturally as possible, but I'm also terrified of having any sort of operation. I totally freak out at the thought of an epidural, but at the same time don't particularly like the idea of being asleep when my baby first comes into the world.

Having said all that though, I have a feeling a c-section is going to be a distinct possibility for me with my blood clotting disorder and having to stop those meds at 36 weeks - I don't know how much longer my Ob will be happy with keeping bubs in there after 37 weeks (need to have a week off aspirin for it to be out of my system). I think the best I can hope for in the middle ground is to be induced about 37/38 weeks if she doesn't decide to come out on her own around then
