    Default 60th Birthday Present

Hi all, DF's dad is turning 60 this week and we are struggling with what to buy him.

We want it to be special as he really deserves something good. He works long hours and does absolutely everything around the house but still makes time for family. He has been to every soccer game DF has and he has been helping him fix his car whilst also doing things with/for the 4 other kids and getting their house ready to sell. Only one lives at home currently.

He likes music and Doctor Who/Stargate etc. He is English and works in IT.

    Anyone have any ideas??

Not sure of its something he'd dig but I got my dad for his 60th a ride in I think it's called a Tigermoth. It's an adventure gift from red balloon. It was a joy ride in a plane kinda thing.

Does he like cars? What about a v8 track day or one of those red balloon events?

I'll suggest it to DF. I hadn't even thought of red balloon!

We got my dad a voucher to do the taronga zoo overnight stay. He loved it. Similar packages at most of the big zoos, we did the one at Dubbo on our honeymoon.

Maybe one of those newspapers from the day your born. You can get them packaged really nice with personal messages inside.

Not sure if he has one already but maybe an ipod with all of his favourite songs downloaded on to it.

Do you know where to get these? I've never heard of them. Dad is 70 in January and we have no idea what to do

We did this for my Dads 60th and he LOVES it. I also did it for my exDH's 30th and he really enjoyed it too.

It made me buy a copy of the paper the day my boys were born, to put away in their keepsake boxes!
