    Default Drug free labour

Has anybody had a drug free labour with an induction? Is it possible considering the pain is a little more intense?

Hey SugarSkull I was induced with my first using Pitocin it was a fast very intense labour. I used gas and air and about an hour and a half before she was born had pethadine. They were threatening epidural as my body was pushing through transition and they were reluctant to recheck me as they had done so about 45 min earlier and I was only 6cm. The pethadine did nothing for me. I would not have agreed to it except to avoid the epidural.
So I guess yes!? Lol it was nearly drug free till the very end.

    Yes I have x2.
    Definitely doable.
Yes it is more painful however I had my 2 inductions first before I had my spontaneous labour, so I really had nothing to compare them to and hence it didn't make a difference on my mindset IYKWIM.

I made it to 8cms on gas and air with my inducted labour.. Bubs was posteria facing as well and I felt it was quite a bit more painful, harder and stronger compared to my previous spontaneous labour. I was glad that I didn't have the pethidine again as personally I found it useless the last time. I did request an epi at around the 8cm point though. So no, I didn't make it drug free.
Are you being induced? You know what, everyone is different/ have different pain thresholds etc.. A drug free inducted labour may be easy for you whereas for others, not so much

I was induced with my second but had a nasty time as he turned prosterior. It was hell but I had gas only. I consider gas only as drug free as it doesn't do much but it is definitely possible.

Yes definitely doable, I had drug free labours with both my boys. My first was spontaneous & second was induced, no real difference between them for me to be perfectly honest. I just went in there feeling so positive, I wasn't scared or nervous, not sure if my mind frame helped me cope.

Yes. I was induced with DS1. I might have given in and had drugs if I had been in delivery but I was on the antenatal ward so all they could give me was panadeine forte (which came up 5 mins later).

It was painful but I got through it and it helped me for DS2 because I knew I could do it.

Yep.. DS1 was induced and I had pethidine.. DS2 was also induced and drug free, he was also posterior - however DS2 was by far the best birth out of both boys.
