My DS is nearly two and only recently have I started to get back into putting a bit more effort into my appearance...only because he is in a easy phase (sleeping, behavior etc), we don't have any major stressed at the moment and generally life is pretty good and I'm happy, relaxed and get a bit of me time.

Six months ago I looked like a bloated pale whale with paddle pop lion hair.

Now I'm proud to say I'm a slightly less bloated version of me with a coat of le tan and straighten hair (at least this week) 😄

Wow. Thats a very judmental and upsetting post op. Why not just be happy that those women you see in daggy clothes are good mums. If they are good mums then why should anyone care what they wear. Isnt it more important that they want to take all their time out for their kids. You never know whats going on behind the scenes.

My wardrobe. I have 2 dresses (dd ripped the top of 1 but because I dont have money to bug new clothes I just tuck it in) and the other one was second hand from my sil and I still have it 2 year kn and its tattered.

    1 pants. Fading.

1 new shirt thag I got a week ago cos all of my other shirts are ruined

Because of my large boobs and my bodg shape after birth I find it extremely hard to find clothes that fit or look nice. So for now I just have to put up with what I have. You just dont know the reasons.

Ahhh. I just find your op terribly upsetting and it makes me cranky just thinking about it.

Because clothes are not the most important thing in the world?

I am a 'tomboy' for lack of a better work. I wear shorts and singlets and thongs most days. My hair gets pulled back into a bun. I usually have vomit stains on my shoulder cos if I changed my shirt every time my DS3 spit up I'd change my shirt at least 6 times a day.

And quite honestly anyone who is going to judge me by the clothes I wear or my messy hair they arent people I want in my life

Where are these fabulous neat and tidy outfits that you speak of?

I wear nice jeans, sometimes cute flats, sometimes sneakers, sometimes converse. I have a bit of a funky dress style. No doubt you would judge that too. But I would probably judge the way you look, so no harm

My kids always have whatever they need, but since day dot I have still put myself on an even keel.My kids get new clothes, shoes, haircuts all the time, and so do I.I am not rolling in money, not at all but I will never run out of makeup,or not get my hair done. I adore my trakkies like no one else, but I have a zillion beautiful dresses too. Most of the time I cant be assed though But yeah,I like having a face on and hair done.Wouldnt sacrifice paying the bills,or the kids going without though! But yes I am happy to admit I DO still care how I look, and will happily go shopping for myself

You know when I'm out and about I'm not one of those mums, I'm always 'dressed' but I still find this post really obnoxious. I can think of a few unappealing characteristics that a nice outfit can't hide I'm afraid :/

As an aside if you knocked on my door unexpectedly you would probably find me minus a bra and my dignity

I'm one of these mums that doesn't leave the house without make up and hair done. My make up is done in 5 minutes and hair is often up and out of the way.

It's just who I am, the way I am. Just doing what I'm comfortable with like every other mother. Each to their own.

I agree with PP's that mums should get some time out. Everyone has different ideas of what relaxing is. Some like getting their hair done others like reading etc.
