Default Feeling guilty being a SAHM...

Since having DD 5y I have only worked pt taking about 10m off with each child. DS2 is 6m and my PPL is due to finish soon. We have some savings but it'll really help if I do just one shift a week. The thing is though long term I can earn so much more then DH if I went back to work FT. Like a good 30k more then him. Now we are going ok enough to get buy but no savings, two mortgages going no where. DS2 was a huge unplanned surprise and we were nearing that time that I could work more but we are back at the start again. Two in childcare etc etc. Anyway the point is I want to be home with my kids as much as possible but the money thing causes so much stress and there is a bit of friction I think between me and DH in that can earn so much more than him. I guess I am just seeking reassurance I am doing the right thing even though we can't pay the electricity bill!

Could you perhaps both work part-time so someone is always with the kids?

I think not being able to pay bills is a serious issue tbh and I would be going back to work, even if part-time. It's rest to be with your kids but not if you can't pay bills, buy them shoes, etc. Those things are more important than being with them 24/7.

DH can't do his job part time. ..we can pay the bills but it has to be ' allowed for' IYNWIM? Like wait until next pay or spread the bills out etc. I can go back to work when ever but that it. I want to be with my kids and home when they are home from school. I'd be doing shift work.

Can you go back part time and work the shifts creatively around the kids and your DH work?
