It's not straight forward to me. I have five kids and work 60 hours a week so I feel qualified to have an opinion. But people on here have explained really well their feelings about it and it makes sense.

I guess what annoys me is the comments from people in front of my kids, I get sooooo many positive comments about their behaviour so luckily they out weigh the negative ones about their presence in their own home in the holidays!

To be fair though you have a job that your kids can be around you while you do it. And I'm sure running a swimming pool keeps them well occupied. A lot of people simply run out of things to do to keep them occupied.

My DS is still only 3 but I don't like school holidays for other (very silly) reasons. I dislike how the toddler activities/kinder gym etc. *stops* during school holidays, as it just throws our routine out and I feel a bit disengaged during holidays.

Also, I feel a but meh during school hols because I imagine everyone else off on holidays, camping, resorting etc. having a wonderful time and we're the only ones stuck at home. Of course that's silly, but I usually just can't wait for school hols to be over so the world cn get back to normal again!

Oh I know! I've Said in so many threads I am blessed with the best job!!! It's not about being fair, that kind of turns in into and us against them and I really didn't want that in this thread! I also do work very hard! 6am starts and 6pm finishes and my 2 year old cannot swim. I've also only done this Job two years and I've been parenting for 13 years. I am very very lucky I don't have to worry about juggling childcare etc.

The last half of this year I'm pregnant with number 3 too! It's a wonder I'm still sane LOL
I used to homeschool and I liked school holidays because they gave me a break from being teacher!

My only problem with school holidays is they are way too short. I feel like we just start to relax and it's time to go back.
