    Default Freezer friendly meal ideas

    I'm off on Mat Leave next week and thought I'd try and make a decent amount of meals that I can freeze and are good to reheat when my LO arrives as I imagine the last thing I'll want to do is cook.
    Was hoping some hubbers could give me some ideas for some simple nutritious meals to make to freeze.

    I had a massive cooking day with Mum and my sister. Each brought over their slow cooker and we made beef stroganoff, chicken curry and lamb stew. They've all frozen really well and we've just make rice or cous cous to accompany

    Red sauce pastas
    Lasagne
    Casseroles
    Soups

    Just make sure you add a little bit more sauce than usual.

    Pinterest is AMAZING for ideas like this. I regularly freeze soups and bolognaise sauce. Stuff like mince in a generic tomato base is great to cook up in bulk and freeze - defrost and add herbs an past for spaghetti. A packet of taco seasoning and some beans for tacos/nachos/burritos.

    Aaand another one, with some of the recipes that caught my eye as well:

    Chicken Broccoli Alfredo
    Ingredients:
    1 ½ pounds chicken breasts
    1 (16 oz) bag frozen broccoli florets
    2 (16 oz) jars Alfredo sauce (I use light)
    1 large green pepper, chopped
    1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    Directions:
    Place all ingredients in a resealable gallon-sized freezer bag and mix together.
    When ready to eat, remove from freezer and thaw in fridge for 24 hours. Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
    Serve with cooked fettuccine noodles, green salad, and Easy Parmesan Knots.

    Chicken Cacciatore
    Ingredients:
    1 lb chicken breasts
    1 (26 oz) jar of chunky vegetable-style spaghetti sauce
    1 zucchini, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 sweet onion, chopped
    Directions:
    Place all ingredients in a resealable gallon-sized freezer bag and mix together.
    Garnish: chopped black olives, shredded Parm cheese
    When ready to eat, remove from freezer and thaw in fridge for 24 hours. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
    Serve with cooked spaghetti noodles and garnish with olives and cheese. Also would be delicious with Cheesy Garlic Sticks.

    Taste.com has a freezer friendly recipe collection that will give you heaps of ideas.

    Meal that I freeze regularly are
    Pasta sauces, ie bolognaise
    Lasagne, spinach and ricotta cannelloni
    Soups - pumpkin, beef barley and veg, minestone
    Cottage pie/Shepherds pie
    Pasta bakes.
    Ratatouille
