    Default Luk Rombauts monash ivf

    Hi,
I have just transferred to Monash from City Fertility after 4 stim cycles & a total of 8 transfers. I am seeing Luk Rombauts & was wondering if anyone is seeing him as well? I have 1 blastocyst from CFC that I have transferred to monash & will have transferred & if unsuccessful will undertake a stim cycle.
any info or comments will be most appreciated,

I saw him in January but found him very dismissive and sent us away to try again for another 6 months despite 2.5 yrs and 2 mcs. I have since changed to lyn burmeister, still at monash but she took no hesitation to explore and turns out I have fibroids, one blocked tube and the other with a huge hole in it. Seems like the 6 months luk suggested was a complete waste of time. I have seen some good reviews for him on here but I can only say I am happy to be with lyn now.
    good luck!

    Hi

Im a patient of Luks and I think he is great. He may not have the most warm and fuzzy manner but he is extremely research based and has been honest and direct with me from day one.

Im currently going through my first ivf cycle now and have no complaint.

    Good luck

Thanks for the replys. I have had 2 appointments with him 1 was second opinion as I was still at CFC about to do a transfer & I was put on clexane aspirin & pred by CFC doc & Luk straight up said to me "if u were my sister I'd tell u to stop taking those" & went on to give a lot of stats & research on it. The 2nd time I saw him was after that transfer failed. We have I blastocyst frozen so we are doing our first FEt with monash & doing a natural cycle. I appreciate his honesty. This is my 3rd doc 2 at CFC with no results & no explanation & now luk so hoping we get results. Thanks again!

I had a very similar experience at CFC - 4 cycles 8 embryos transferred all BFN (2 different specialists too) I left when they were going to do the same protocol again with no changes and no movement towards more testing. Moved to Monash (to LB though) and have found out more in the last 6 months with her than in the whole time at CFC. Oddly LB has put me on prednisolone and clexane but I have a blood clotting issue so it makes sense for me. I found it very telling that LB has all the stats on a sheet in her waiting room comparing success rates of all the Melbourne fertility clinics ... Monash has a good result, CFC not so much.

Good luck with your new FS.

Luk Rombauts was our fertility specialist and I was extremely happy with him. Like someone else said he doesn't have a warm, fuzzy manner but he is very smart and research based. I think we needed this so we could keep a clear head. He was very professional and told us what would be happening step by step. He performed my laparoscopy and two months later we had our first IVF treatment and got pregnant. Now blessed with an almost 8 month old girl
    Good luck on your journey
