Wow reading this thread has brought back a flood of memories and emotions. I just wanted to share my story hopefully to give some hope to others going through this journey. I started trying to conceive my 2nd child in June 2011. I fell pregnant in December 2011 but sadly had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks. I was desperate to fall pregnant again as soon as possible and when I had failed to conceive again 6mths later I went to see a specialist. I had a gut feeling something wasn't right as my cycle had changed and I was getting more pain with my period since the miscarriage and d&c. The specialist brushed me off and told me that it was due to my age (36 at the time) that I was taking longer to conceive. I was sure there was something else going on so I got a second opinion from a more specialized fertility clinic. I started the array of tests including the HSG which showed my tubes were blocked (full blockage in one and partial in the other). In December 2012 I had surgery to unblock my tubes and had my first iui (with puregon) in January 2013 (unsuccessful) and my 2nd in February which was also unsuccessful. I had read a lot about progesterone support for iui and pushed for it in what was to be my third and last iui despite the clinic not using prog support normally for iui. My third iui was successful and I continued with the progesterone support until 14weeks. I delivered a healthy beautiful baby girl in December 2014 who is now 9 weeks old. I would definitely recommend iui and stress getting a second opinion if you're not happy with your dr. Also, don't waste time! If you think something's not right or are considering fertility treatment just do it!! It might be several months or more before you can start by the time you have all the tests done. I wish you all the very best of luck in your journeys to conceive.

Hi Leesylu, your story makes me feel optimistic. DH and I had our IVF appointment with the nurses at Queensland fertility yesterday I have never felt more disappointed with my FS. He left out so much information, all while pushing us into IVF out of the blue. The nurse was so kind and helpful with tonnes of info. Looks like IUI is back in the cards and I'm so happy! He made us believe that they were similar prices when that's def not the case. I would prefer $600 a pop on IUI rather than $12k IVF! Maybe if I won the lotto!!

I got a positive OPT on CD11 this month. I thought wow, awesome! Had acupuncture appointment the next day and he told me my pulse was slippery. I thought bigger wow (once I asked what the heck that meant lol). DH has gone away for work today and this afternoon I took another OPT and go a super strong positive. I'm wondering now whether I ovulated twice or if my clomid have me a false line at the start of the month. It is CD16 now. Either way he isn't here and that sucks. Oh well, just our luck.

Just thought id give an update. Anyone else had two LH surges before? Seems to happen to me a lot.ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1392716309.880981.jpg

    Don't be fooled from Ivf..

I was 26, amh of 1.5, dh had poor sperm "supposably"

    Ivf- preg, m/c

They told me I would never have a baby with out them.
    I was skeptical.....

    Went back to the hospital... 3 iui's b2b m.c's
After investigation.. I had the problem, not dh.. I have high nk cells and a blood clotting disorder..
Next cycle... Aspirin.. Iui's bamImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1392717147.065883.jpg
We now have our little mate....

Then when he was just 6 m I found out I was pregnant naturally.

    Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks for sharing. It is great to read everyone's stories and journeys. I'm glad I found this thread as it gives hope and some very helpful information.

afm, TTC 3 y, 2 x clomid. And this week will be IUI #1.

just wondering if anyone who is still following this thread and has had IUI, has any info on how you feel after the procedure? I've read on forums that some experience cramps etc to varying degrees. Just trying to get an idea of what I might be up for, any insight greatly appreciated!

I hope everyone is going ok on their journey.......

Hi OIC, I'm yet to do my first IUI. Holding out hope this month still that something might happen naturally or should I say on my last round of Clomid. Your story sound similar to mine. I have heard cramp etc too. Any info the girls give you will also benefit me and many other readers. I wish you the best of luck and hope your first round is successful!

Thanks SJ89. Good luck to you too!
    thanks ABH, and Congratulations!

I had the IUI, it was a little more uncomfortable than I expected but not as bad as the HSG. No further cramping yet.

It's a bit strange getting someone else to do the "work" for you!

    good luck to everyone!

Oh and I totally agree that there could be a double surge. I often feel ov. pain twice, and I had a scan showing 2 follies at different sizes a month ago. I'm wondering if that has been our problem, missing the window by not continuing on after the first predicted ov. I hope we haven't done the IUi too early........but I guess the professionals know what they're doing!

    bring on ov.Pain!

    Hi girls....
reading your post I just want to assure you. I had 1 round of iui and for us it worked...I will be 24 weeks on Monday. Saying that though iui does not work for everyone as you would of seen by other posts. Yes there is some discomfort, like cramps, when the procedure is done, but it only hangs around for a short period of time. The most annoying part is the 2ww. Lol

    Hi ladies
I am waiting to see if AF arrives today/tomorrow and then if it does I will be making the call to the FS to prep up for IUI. Hubby was going to Africa for work so we weren't going to try this month but it's been pushed back a week! Yay!
It will be weird having someone else do it but hopefully it also takes some pressure off trying. Doing the deed feels like a chore sometimes. After 2 and a half years anyway!

It's nice to see some positive stories from IUI and IVF!

Keep us posted on how you feel through IUI OIC as I'm very curious and anxious.

That's awesome Gemgems!! I had read so many that didn't work. It's good to hear a positive.

    Xx
