I'm hard to please in a hotel, it has to have a king size cos that's what we've got at home.

I feel like I've seen the best and the worst of it - from 30 bed mixed dorms with shared bathrooms in backpackers in Eastern Europe, to 5 stars in Dubai on work trips.

In a nice hotel I feel totally relaxed, but I've also stayed in some dodgy ones where I sleep with one eye open...

I love the anonymity of a big hotel, we NEVER do b&b or small places like that when we travel.

I love it. I love 5 star, I love B&B's, motels, apartments, holiday houses, even hostels if they're not completely grotty. I just love being on holiday

Lol I hate it when you're staying in a small town and that's your only option, they're horrible!!

I absolutely love staying in hotels, especially in the city.

I haven't really thought about it, but in my travelling days, it was dodgy hostels that I mostly stayed in so way grosser than hotels. Booking a hotel is not really my thing. To me, it's just a place to sleep. I like to get out and explore. I'm not one who likes to stay in all day, even prior to having kids. If much rather a self contained apartment.

When we got married in the Whitsundays, we swapped our beautiful ocean view room for a basic garden view room because the room was way bigger than the ocean view one, and the water was only 30 seconds walk anyway.

I love holidays too. We just try and find ones that don't involve staying in a hotel.

I like posh hotels. With nice big bathtubs. Budget hotels not so much, but if it means I'm somewhere on holiday then unless it's really dodgy I don't care too much. In a city, I'd much prefer to spend a little bit extra to get a really nice hotel (provided I can get a good deal).

Outside cities, definitely cottages, holiday houses or self-contained B&B's. Definitely agree with the PP who didn't like B&B's that are in the house of the owners. No thanks!

Before kids, yes I did like staying in hotels. Now I'd rather stay in a cabin so we're so close to others, the kids can make more noise, usually there's a play ground nearby so they're not couped up and bored. I do find it hard to relax when they're awake though cause I spend the whole time worrying that they will brake something or touch things they shouldn't. We always take our own pillows whenever we stay some where other than home.
