Default Sick baby so unsettled at night

My 8 month old DS is a terrible sleeper at the best of times but he currently has a cold and is just so unsettled at night. I try to settle in the cot but after getting up every half hour to resettle I've been bringing him in with me. He sleeps more soundly then but I really don't want to go sleep long term. Any advice? What do u do with your LO's when they are sick?

Have you tried some Vicks or euky near rub? I use it on my kids chest and soles of their feet. Also a dose of panadol just before bed helps my kids sleep when they're not feeling well.

When they are sick I just do what I need to do for everyone to get the most sleep. At the moment I have a mattress on the floor next to her cot because she is coughing a lot but when she sleeps next to me she sleeps much better so we start her in the cot but move her if needed.

I elevate the head of DS's mattress with a folded up blanket, which helps him breathe. I also give Nurofen and/or Aerius for children. I hope your bub gets better soon!
