Default Shoe size 4 year old boy.

My DS is 4 yrs old (Just turned 4) and at Athletes food his foot size measured size 12 US, I was a little shocked as not long ago he was in size 10. I asked the guy to measure both feet again and even asked if he could go into size 11 (Ds's toe was at the spot where an 11 would be a perfect fit, but not allowing room for growth).

Dh and I don't really have big feet, Im a size 7 and Dh size 9.

What size is your 4 year old in, is size 12 pretty 'normal'?

I have tiny tiny feet (Size 5) and DP has massive feet. I can fit both my feet into one of his shoes. DD was born with Huge feet so i think she is taking after her dad. She is currently Size 7(3 years old) and sometimes a size 8. I think she is about to have a growth spurt tho cos at the moment she is eating more then DP!

I think it would be about right, my DD1 just turned 4 and she is in size 11 but won't be for long. The thing is, most kids are wearing the wrong size shoe as parents don't bother getting them measured, they just try them on in the shop and the child ends up in the wrong size. This was us - DD1 went from wearing a size 8 then when we got her measured she was a size 10!! I felt awful.

Yeah I've been known to duck into Target or Spend less shoes and pick up the size I think fits, but lately I have been getting him measured.
