    I will be exactly the same as you, so I say go for it. I've already looked up cakes & party food & considered locations & my baby is still in the womb! 1st bdays are special - enjoy it!

    I think do whatever you like! It's mote about you than him at this stage, so if you want to go all out, go for it.
    Personally I'm more low key and just do champagne and a store bought adult cake for immediate family. We didn't do a birthday party until DS was 3.

    Go for it! As pp have said its the memories and photos that matter.

    I went OTT for my sons first birthday. Still being on maternity leave and he being the first, I would never have that much time to organise things again.
