I would desperately love a family holiday. Indream about it. But alternate reality holiday.
Reading your post made me realise how much I take for granted
babysteps maybe? A very basic overnight cheap hotel stay/caravan park gently ease him into it. We have friends with a son with autism/aspergers and they did it step y step and their son now copes remarkably well and really enjoys their family holidays. I have no experience and I hope I don't offend you, I hope one day you get to enjoy a wonderful family holiday and all the fun and precious memories that go with it xxx

We have a holiday every 2 years, earlier this year we went to Melbourne for 10 days and we are now in the planning (and paying off) stages of organising a trip to American in 2015 to go on a Disney cruise

We are going to Japan for two weeks, with 3 children in December. Very excited.
If any one has any tips, that would be appreciated.

But apart from that, we spent the days swimming, going to restaurants (waitresses take the kids off you over there so you can eat in peace!), walking along the beach, did a few day activities. It was fantastic and will be even better next year when they are that bit older.
Thanks, very good to know. I have 4 and there are always great deals from Perth. I might have to wait a couple of years until I have 3/4 swimming.

We are thinking of going to Tokyo too for two weeks. Still thinking about it though as its so pricey...
But it would be our long overdue honeymoon (with a 8 mo)!

Well I changed from Jindabyne to Canberra as it is 2 hours closer. Got a bargain 4.5star self contained villa. My son and baby are still counted as infants so only had to pay for 2 adults, 1 child.

And so exciting, I booked a cruise yesterday for Dec 2015! Just have to pay deposit today

The most expensive thing is the Japan Rail passes, but you only need those if you are going across the country, not if you are staying around Tokyo. I found hotels quite expensive too, and we booked a whole apartment privately rather then a hotel, which is bigger, nicer and cheaper and fits the five of us in.
