You are focussing on a minority, I think, and losing site of the big picture- that a grassroots protest came together around the country where thousands and thousands of people expressed their lack of confidence in the Abbott govt.
I'm not sure what I got wrong here - I asked previously what the purpose of the march was. The reply was to unite people to show dissatisfaction with the government - I'd say that's to unite in hatred rather than if the purpose was to put forward ideas for change.

"To unite to show dissatisfaction" - nope, cant think of another way to view that.

FTR I see the convoy of no confidence as the same and was therefore not involved in that, however, if someone held a forum on "what we can do to get rid of the carbon tax" - I'd be interested

I did not participate either as I am not a fan of protests in general. I was just interested in whether Atropos also viewed that in such high regard as she has the March in March. I was the same. A public gathering of thousands to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the government. Atropos?

It is unfortunate that the Labor/Green alliance has continued after the election and they continue to block the abolition of the carbon tax. I hope the next Senate will support what the people had clearly voted for. Otherwise, bring on the double dissolution and we can all watch Labor continue to fight for the policy that destroyed them.

I understood father, I just wanted to set the record straight that for me it wasn't about what side it was before or against. Without a positive agenda, I do not like rallies at all. Because without a positive agenda, they are just there to unite people in hate and not to achieve change

Abbott will not have the guts to do a double dissolution. He's lagging in the polls.

Funny how before the election, they said they wouldn't do any deals with the greens but they did exactly that to raise the debt ceiling.

People gathering for a rally to show their disappointment in a government doesn't mean they are gathering full of hate. Disappointment is not the same as hatred

With a new Senate on July 1, I don't see how he could justify a double dissolution anyway. But then, of course, he will almost certainly have to deal with Palmer, who we all know is a bit of an unpinned Catherine wheel. That's why he's trying to pressure Labor into a backflip now.

Interesting times in the second half of the year.
