PS, I didn't mean they aren't trying to get here by the way, I meant that the arrived in Indonesia and are going through the "correct" channels to be resettled. Not trying to get here on rickety boats, and also not trying to get "here" specifically but anywhere safe through UNHCR.

You made the incorrect statement that the only people who go to Indonesia are trying to get to Australia via people smugglers on boats - and that just isn't true.

I expect the number of asylum seekers in Indonesia to fall dramatically over the course of this year. And if this prediction is borne out then that should make people on all sides of this debate happy .

There are people who have been in refugee camps 50 years plus who will most likely die there.
I know the whole UNHCR process is a shambles. when I am prime minister (... Make that president) I am going to drastically increase our intake of asylum seekers that are in camps.

When I am Supreme Leader of the World I will appoint you as President of Australia. How does that sound?

    Tim Wilson vs Brandis:

There are diverse views on whether section 18C should be left alone, modestly changed or fully repealed. I will be arguing for its full repeal on the grounds it conflicts with other human rights and therefore does not meet the threshold for restricting speech.

I hope Wilson holds this government to account on this. They should not be backing down from what they promised. Wilson will be hard to argue against on this topic.

I haven't read that, but I agree. This carbon tax needs to go. The Labor/Green senate though are opposing the scrapping of the tax.... despite Rudd having said before the last election that he himself was going to 'terminate' it????? That's opposition for the sake of opposition.

Fortunately, they are now looking at scrapping the RET too which is also keeping electricity prices high. Get rid of them both I say!

Asylum seeker killed in png. Many injured. Perhaps the government should abandon manus island.
