Not sure why you are laughing.

It wasn't that long ago, but we had a Labor government who said, during the August mini-budget, that under them unemployment was going to to rise to 6.25% this financial year.

The mini-budget predicts unemployment will rise from 5.6 per cent to 6.25 per cent which would see the jobless queue climb from 709,000 to around 800,000.

I think you have a case of the "Abbotts". Just wanting to blame Abbott for everything. Labor was in government for 6 years. Abbott has had a couple of months to fix what they destroyed. He is doing well, but he's not a miracle worker.

Supposedly. Meanwhile they are cutting funding to the most needy while giving it to billionaire mining companies. They have allowed 2 iconic Australian companies employing hundreds of hard working people paying their tax and trying to support their families, to close. They have promised only a small percentage of Gonski, even after backflipping twice (despite the new research out of oz and the US saying public schools are just as good as private). The refusal to make peace with Indonesia despite all the cafuffle. The constant foot-in-mouth comments, and the inability to actually say a word without a scripted speech. The horrible popularity ratings. His stance on gay marriage which many believe is a human rights violation. They have no Science Minister in 2014 and Abbott is the Women's Minister Employment has gone up....

I could keep going but you get the point lol

Chris Kenny in the Australian provides a list of comments from people who should now be apologising to Abbott and Morrison.

How stupid they all look now.
So where are all those refugees now? All those people seeking asylum? Where have they gone?

...oh, that's right, not here, so who cares, yeah?

Turning back boats does not solve the problem. Millions of people in the world are needing help, fleeing persecution and death. The fact that Australia now ignores it's legal obligation (under the refugee convention to which we are signatory) to many of these people based on something as ridiculous as mode of transport is nothing to gloat about Father, it is a national shame and a disgrace.

The boats aren't being stopped, they are just being turned around/sent back. Out of sight, out of mind. It's the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA". That's the level of intelligence the Abbott government is applying to the 'issue' of asylum seekers. Kudos to them as it seems many Australians are only capable of that level of intelligence in such matters.

You don't promise to create 1,000,000 jobs if unemployment is predicted to rise!

Unless he was talking about creating 1 million jobs overseas, I think he will meet his target there!

It has most definitely solved the problem of people dying at sea. Over 1000 deaths under the Labor government obviously means nothing to you.
