Not everything is about gender or personal preference. Do u know these people personally. I know the news is really accurate and all and you can know a person so well from how the media represents them but honestly.

Well, after all, women aren't as clever as men - we should just be happy we have a number of women in deputy positions.

I'm very concerned about all the portfolios he has completely gotten rid of, including disability and Science. What the F**K!

No it doesn't surprise me but I'm not concerned.
He hasn't changed his line up for years to show stability and strength within his party and as opposed to labor and the unrest within their party.
I don't think it is representative of him being a misogynist.
Julie bishop is in the cabinet because she has earned her way and has been in the line up for years. She is 2nd in charge. She wouldn't be in that position if he was misogynistic.
I prefer this than him putting women in who haven't earned the right, just because they have women bits.

You sound like you are saying that she was a bad leader because she was a woman. Love or hate her, she wasn't bad or good because she was a woman.

Or another crazy idea- perhaps no women put their hands up for the jobs? You aren't exactly going to force ppl into positions that they don't want are you.
I agree that not everything needs to become a gender issue. In fact, I feel that making things gender issues just forces women backwards. It should always be about ability and merit, not what you have or don't have between your legs.

Like pp I am more concerned about the missing portfolios than the lack of women. As for Julie Bishop, pfft. Let's wait and see.

And as for those who think the best person is appointed to do the job in politics, I have a bridge in Sydney I'd be willing to sell you.

(and yes I am cranky today).

Just another Feminist complaint. Maybe just maybe, there wasnt any women suited to the job!!!!! Much like women getting paid less than men...maybe just maybe the men are more qualified and/or have spent more year in the job and have more experience. Lets not forget that most women take at least some part of the lives off to have children etc!!!!!! GRRR, this topic always gets me revved up!!!!!

Whilst on one hand it is a concern I'd be more concerned if he was putting women in just to make up the numbers rather than who was best for the job. According to the news (not the best source I know) but there aren't many women in the liberal party ready to take on cabinet. I sincerely hope this is temporary and we get more women in.

Funny enough I am in a male dominated industry and I get paid just as much and more than some of the other men I work with because of my qualifications

Completely disagree with you. Gillard was a good PM and as far as i'm aware this country is doing pretty ok.
