Dh is fifo from brisbane to Perth and we live on the south side near mount gravatt east. It takes about 15 /20 minutes to get to the airport. Once you get to the gateway it's really not far.

Yes ...he does ...I have a sister in Perth and he did stay with her at times but he is looking into just flying straight for here ...when he does go back for work he heads back the day before stays at my sisters for the night then flies to his work which is 1 hour away from Perth...

Personally if DH needs to get to the airport ( on time) I would avoid northside suburbs. The gateway on the northside is a car park. Yes there are tolls coming from the south but at least he'll get to the airport

We live on the Northside, about 25klms from the airport, my DH works at the airport & it takes about 30mins to get there.

Budget is a huge factor, suburbs closer to the city are way more expensive.

You dont need to directly take the gateway to get to the airport. There are other ways to get there

We live on the north side and my DH works at the airport - takes him about 30mins. Can take longer depending on traffic.

Depending on how often he comes home, it may not matter how far from the airport you live (eg you may want to live out in the western suburbs and if he is only going to the airport fortnightly then you would have a nicer lifestyle at home for the hour it would take him to get to the airport once a fortnight iykwim). Personally any suburbs close to the airport I wouldn't live in, too crowded and overpriced.

My parents live in hendra as my dad used to commute every second weekend. Can't get much closer to the airport. Lovely suburb about 10km from the city. But also look at eagle junction, Wooloowin and kedron as the state schools are fantastic and are only the next few suburbs over.
