And just in case you thought this tale had come to an end.... I got my tissue test results today...

And none of the tissues sent to pathology were able to show a pregnancy or pregnancy tissue. The tissues sent were from my pouch of Douglas, uterus inside and out and ovarian cyst which was found to be benign but also full of endometriosis (which I have a history of)...

My hcg also increased which is common after the methotrexate injection and I'm required to have follow up blood test for hcg decline on Friday (results due Monday). If my hcg has risen again I will need an additional injection.

My gyny has now stated I am officially a mystery case all around.

I'm over this ordeal. And glad he gave me this week off to rebuild and assess myself mentally. I really needed it.

My HcG increased too after the shot but started coming down about 4-5 days after.

Agree with Lys, did they check your tubes. I find it hard to understand your hormones are continuing to rise without a pg Of course I'm not a dr but given everything you have said, I bet you had a tubal pg. Methotrexate has an excellent success rate, I only needed the one shot.

    Keep us updated

My gyny told me my tubes were clear when they did the lap and d&c...

I will update when I know more. He did also say it could be on my bowel, which is really rare...

Oh Taff what a long and drawn out ordeal for you. I hope the next test shows levels dropping and you can have some closure to help with the grieving process.

    Sorry for the belated reaponse/update...

Wel I made it back to work Tuesday.
They thought I would have needed a second injection in my appointment on Monday but when I started to say that Monday was the only possible day this week for me to have an injection the gyny went to review some injection paperwork and came back saying actually my numbers had dropped by 28% and therefore I needed another blood test instead... I got the results of Mondays blood test today and it had dropped again... Hopefully I am on the right track now!

So... I know this post is really old but thought is let you know that my hcg has almost gone back to 0- one more blood test tomorrow as last week it was at 16 still.

After it reaches 0 I should have a period and need to avoid pregnancy for 2 cycles,

Physically I have been spotting / lightly bleeding for the past 2.5 weeks - I wanted to add that here as many posts I read on the Internet don't really discuss what to expect or what happens in the physical sense. ...

So this is hopefully the end of this saga...
