Black cars are soooooo hard to see on the road. Statistically I believe you're more likely to be in an accident, mainly because of visibility issues.

My sister bought a dark car and always leaves her lights on even in day time so other cars can see her. I do too now even though my car is bronze.

Have considered painting! Think it'd be round 5 for it done properly so doesn't make it worth it. Don't worry great minds think alike

And yeah my dad said the same thing. It has fog lights so don't know if that's a plus for visibility wise or not

I wouldn't buy a black car, I thought all the talk of hot, dirt & scratches was rubbish - until we bought a white car. Huge difference to our black one.

Fog lights cannot be used in the daytime depending on your state laws.

My last car was black and yeah it sometimes looked dirtier than it was but does it really matter? My car is now silver and I much prefer the black.
I cant stand when people have their lights on during the day, I don't know why but it drives me nuts.

I could put up with the dirt, and always drive with lights on to be visible, but the heat is the worst part. Unless you live in a cool climate, don't do it.

Totally agree! I think they are incredibly dangerous. Signed - the owner of a SAFE white car!!!

Fog lights are illegal to use unless there is fog.

We have a dark grey 4wd and I don't mind the scratches because it shows that we actually use it as one.

My husband works in the motor industry (the repair of) and he would never have a black car.
Shows up all the scratches, ding, dents etc.
we only ever get white cars (boring!)

Thanks everyone we decided not to do it. Hugely because we just wouldn't have the money to fix dings and scratches up continually. Looks like we will be safe and boring too! Yay for practicality. Haha

I have a black and a white car and the white shows the dirt way more. I haven't noticed any difference in the heat in the cars on a hot day.
