Lego is big news around here. Lego Technic or the Lego that has a few things in each box you can build.

The motorbike suggestion is a good one. My DS would like that.

Maybe two movie tickets? My son thinks it is a huge treat to go to a movie!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle/Spiderman/Batman paraphernalia is pretty popular.

My DS (turning 5 in November) loves matchbox cars, remote control cars, Lightning McQueen cars and Mac truck, pretend role play (toy kitchen, dress up), scooter, bike riding, balls, drawing and colouring.

I think he would like both the toys you have suggested

My 6yr old loves these. Lego are also a big hit as well as marbles.

My DS just turned 6 and he's been into motorbikes for quite a while.

Kmart has a $20 telescope. Both of my kids like that.

Big w and bunning sell wooden models that you can paint and put together. They have cars, space ships and the likes.

Hmm.. other than that, maybe just the typical boy stuff- lego, cars, super hero stuff, outdoorsy stuff (bikes, balls, goals, grip ball, tennis pole, etc).
