So Sorry to hear your BFN news Cue. We cycled together in July/Aug Thread or maybe the Jun/Jul Thread and we got lucky first go with MFI.
Its such a chances game I was reading some where even without issues "normal" conception is successful 25% of the time you DTD on/ around ovulation. So really each IVF attempt is less than that. Seriously how does anyone get pregnant accidentally!
My DH's aunt did 13 cycles with no luck and decided to adopt instead. But there are so much that get their bub within 3 or 4 cycles.
Keep going while your heart is still in it.
I know it's a gamble every time, it's just got me down today. I am very envious of those who fall easily or as a happy accident - I'd love to be able to have that excitement!
My heart's definately in it, I'm not sure how long DH is willing to go for though. It's quite taxing on us financially, physically (EPUs are so painful for me due to hypersensitive ovaries) and emotionally.
I don't think MFI is such a huge deal in terms if Ivf. If you have embryos to transfer then they have the sperm. Does that make sense? An embryo is and embryo, if its come from ICSI which was a normal deposit or from frozen sperm or a TESA OR PESA, then once the sperms out his job is done. Then you are subject to the normal odds just like everybody else.
Sperm health is a different matter. Have a look at the dr Wazza threads and get for fella on all that gear.
Mummy of Max 2 from donor eggs from my lovely sister.
2 stim cycles, 4 transfers and one cancelled transfer (lost all my remaining frosties ouch). 2 years all up by the time I had testing, lap, recovered from OHSS after stim 1 and had a break to get our heads and bodies physically ready for stim 2.
We were also primarily MFI however I have endo. DP had slightly better results on all counts of his sperm test after a huge health kick before stim 2 so I have a slightly different opinion that sperm quality and MFI does play a part in the success of IVF. We had much much better quality embies this cycle!
First go for us. I really wasn't expecting it as we got 7 after EPU and by second day we were down to 2. It wasn't looking good. Just lucky those 2 were really good ones. Hope you get your BFP soon x
I've had two transfers and got pregnant twice, with two healthy boys 18 mths apart.
My advice is to get super healthy including your DH. For us this meant no cafeine / alchohol during the lead up and during the process and eating well.
I have PCO and hubby has very low sperm count. I got these tablets from the US called Fertleaid.
I'm not sure what exactly made it happen but I think all these factors played a good part. Good luck.
