Miss Macy have you asked your clinic directly to see if they can provide you with your meds? I know many clinics in Europe will supply their patients with a start up pack, the only other alternative is to get your clinic to send a script through to an online pharmacy, some of which are cheaper others not, Fertility2u usually deal with EU countries but will accept scripts from other countries but go charge £40 on top of the end price to convert the script, when I bought my lupron depot shot from them last year it was roughly £90 with postage on top of that, you shouldn't have any problems getting the meds through customs, nine of them are banned and from memory your name is on the pkts, they also pack an invoice with the meds as well, I came back through 3 countries with about 15 pkts of progesterone, prednisone, Valium etc and was never stopped. If your queried at all you just explain they're ivf meds and you've had it fine o/s

My meds arrived today from IVFMeds.com. I now have to sort out the scan 10 days after starting the estrimax. The timing is bad, it ends up the Friday before we fly and generally they won't give results when there, I am going to call them and ask, given all we are after is the endometrium lining thinkness can they just give me that on the day. Once that is sorted it is all smooth sailing until Nov.

Deposit tick, accom and flights tick, meds tick. Feeling nervous. 10 Nov is fly out date.

OMG. My medications arrived today. The needle is so big. How am I supposed to give that to myself. I feel so sorry for the donors, how long do they have to inject themselves for?

I nearly died when I saw the needle as well I kept on getting it in and out of the cupboard to stare at it!! I HATE needles lol I ended up my getting my doctors nurse to give it to me in my bum muscle and it didn't hurt at all, the donors could be using the daily lupron injections which the needle is really tiny, not sure about the size of the other ones they have to use, but yes , they do go through s great deal for us!!, they are very special, and we are very lucky !! Soo exciting when your meds come it makes it all the more real !!

if its IM injection remember to do it in the upper outer area (draw + then you get the upper outer). Huum, so youre GP wouldn't prescribe for you Debant. I've just made an appointment with mine to see if she will as the meds are funded here.
What is your scan for? to check the lining? You must be on the countdown now.

Also if your doc won't do it there are heaps of videos on U Tube that show how to do it, either yourself, or your partner, it also may say on the instructions that you can put it in the belly, it's better to go into your mum muscle

Miss Macy, if your GP won't prescribe go through one of the online paharmacies. I went through IVFmeds.com which was recommended by Eva at Zlin but Stacey10 has talked about Fertility2u which seems cheaper. The main issue with the meds from GP was the depot injection, lupron, my GP said in AUs it is restricted to treatment of prostate cancer. The clinic in Zlin will give you a letter for your GP, I was able to use that as the prescriotion for IVFmeds.com.

Yes the scan is for lining thickness, if not right meds need to be adjusted. I called the radiologist place and they will give me the report provided I am prepared to wait or pop back in, they said the report is usally done in about an hour. So thats what I'll be doing. They were lovely and very helpful when I rang.

Stacey10, I have a hubby that is very scared of needles. But a friend has offered to help out. And she has no issues with needles having had diabetes since childhood. I will try the nurse first but if not my friend said she has no issues and we will look for the videos for instructions.

When are you heading over MissMacy?

Thanks for the advise Stacey, it's good to hear , I'm not sure how I will go with injections though !!! I must get at least the 1st few done by my dr.

Hi everyone. It's not that a GP won't want to prescribe your meds, they aren't legally allowed to. Only a fertility specialist can prescribe depot. They can write a script for the other meds but it isn't worth it. Just register with fertility2u. Zlin will send them the prescription and you'll have your meds in a couple of days. They are not allowed to accept a letter from an overseas facility as it's still not legally for them to prescribe depot.

The needle looks large but it's no more difficult than IVF. If you haven't done IVF you might need some help with it. But, save yourselves the appt and forget the GP. Fertility2u are easy and you'll pay half the price.
