Estrogen, yes from what I remember I took three a day, breakfast, lunch and just after dinner. One or two days I had crazy days and accidentally only took two as I forgot my lunch one. So if that happens, don't worry too much. You could just set yourself an alarm for around midnight to take the 3rd one for the day, which I had to do sometimes!

Gosh January is coming round quick for you ladies !! I still cant work out how it is Xmas in a few weeks... how did that happen? I think because we were in Cape Town for 3 weeks, its crept up so quick. The same will be for you with Xmas in the middle!

Exciting stuff ladies... enjoy this time... its really quite special

Tiggy - I'm good thanks, though I've had a bit of scare recently, where my CA125 levels are through the roof. Its a tumor marker test (ovarian cancer) BUT... it could be anything too. Normally my level over the past 3 years has been sitting around 100 (which is still very high) but it can be lots of things.. endo etc.
I think its been brought on by IVF, but obviously I cant be sure. I originally got tested because I had really painful r/hand ovary pain on the 2nd day of my period a few years ago, and then it would disappear (not every period, just some, maybe 3-4 times over 2-3 years). The pain was that bad, that nurofen wouldn't even numb it, so that's why I originally asked the GP and I guess that was how I ended up finding out my CA125 is so high. Its a test that can detect lots of things, and there is no sure test for o/cancer - so, it really is a process of elimination. But, not what I need right now!!

This time, my reading is 489 - and the GP referred me to a gyny/cancer specialist. Theres nothing in our family, but hes organised more bloods (waiting on results to come back) and an MRI - next w/end. He said he wouldn't recommend any ED Cycles until we get to the bottom of it.

Deep down I'm worried, and even more worried if we ever got told to stop. I trust this isn't going to be the case... and hopefully its just a reaction to all the drugs I was on. I asked Dr M if he thought the immune treatment affected it - he said no.

I best be off, as am at work... and of course shouldn't be on here !!

Hi Sooty May, I am sure that is the very last thing you want to be dealing with. Oh boy, I wish you didn't have to wait until next weekend for the MRI - just so you can be rid of the stress. But then, I guess it's just a week...I am sure it will turn out to be the medication, but you just don't want to have to be thinking about it. And i know what you mean about being told you have to stop. You are on a mission and you don't want anything to get in the way. When will the next round of blood tests come back? How soon can doctors rule out anything serious? I hope very very soon sweet Sooty May, so you can get on with things ASAP. I will think of you this week. YOu are so strong, and handle everything like a trooper - including this. Sending some top quality white light xxxxx Tiggy

Thanks Tiggy - you are soooo sweet !!! Like a little treat... that's really nice of you. I was able to bring the MRI forward to Thursday afternoon and bloods will be back. My specialist is on leave, but checking in the office on the 23rd, so will get an answer then. I am hoping IVF meds too, and that the levels may have even dropped by now. Here's hoping - will keep you posted !! You must be getting excited now !

Hi all, am super new here, so please forgive me as I get up to speed and read as many posts as I can. I'm grateful for your combined wisdom and experience.

We've had three failed IVF cycles in Queensland and have been encouraged by our FS to go with a donor egg; I'm 40+ and my egg quality is "poor" .

All good so far with this strategy; we've had counselling, wrapped our heads around it, dove into the deep questions and what if's, and are now quite comfortable moving forward.

We've looked far and wide, and are quite interested in the Czech Republic. These clinics seem to have great reputations: Cube, Gennet, Zlin, Reprofit, PFC and Fertimed.

However, what I'm really after first up is, stats on success rates with donor eggs over age 40. If anyone can point me in that direction, I'd be incredibly grateful.

I'm also open to any opinions on top clinics worldwide specialising in donor egg pregnancies for women over 40.

Many thanks in advance, and if I'm asking silly questions that are out of place or easily answered by FAQs, simply point me in the right direction and off I'll go.

Sooty May, I have my fingers crossed for you! Wishing you all the best for your MRI

Apple Pie, welcome and both sorry for getting to the point of needing DE and congratulations on your decision to go for it!

I have twins born in July this year after our second DE attempt at Zlin. The first attempt didn't work as I was found to have, in addition to dodgy ovaries, inflammatory bacteria in my uterus.

In terms of stats for over 40 success with DE I'm not sure where you could find that. The majority of people who do embark on DE are in their late 30's or 40's, in fact I was rather an oddity embarking on DE in my 20's! I guess it just depends when people start trying to have children and then it takes a few years to work through fertility problems.

I think these specific stats might be hard to come across unless they come out of the USA (where DE is more common among their fellow country people) because for the most part with people who do DE they go overseas and are not closely tracked for stats etc by their home clinic or the overseas clinic. I'd say even lots of the stats for DE in Zlin are presented as lower than the reality as they rely on people to tell them whether they were successful and some people don't notify them. I did, so I'm a successful stat for 2012/2013!

I found Zlin great and would highly recommend it, it worked for us however I also think it's important to find the clinic that feels right for you! Have you emailed any clinics? That's a good first step as it helped us decide where we felt was right for us. They might be able to answer your stats question.
Some of the ladies on here are also going to Zlin in January, not long now!!!

Good luck with your journey, please stick around and join us if you like! We can answer any questions you might have, between the 5/6/7/8? of us we're a wealth of information!

    Hello Applepieandpavlova, and welcome

I am not sure about worrying too much about stats for the over 40's in regard to DE - not when you are considering the better clinics in CZ - only because, it's the age of the donor that counts. As Alice says, you can be younger, with some tricky fertility issues, or you can be older, with poorer and fewer eggs. For the latter case, treatment might be quite straightforward (oh dear don't quote me on any of this!) Again, as Alice said, the majority of recipients will be older women.

I have always been drawn to Zlin - just the posts I have read from women who have been there - and the correspondence I have had with them - and Alice!

Why don't you join us, Miss Applepie, mysteriously 40+. I like that. I too am 40+ (+5) To be fair I hear Reprofit is good too. For me it had to be CZ because I am Eastern European.

    Applepie good luck! xxxx

Sooty May I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Alice, so far I feel the same after Depot. When do I start heart palpitations? xxxx

Hi girls, a quick hello from me!!!

It's been absolutely crazy here but hopefully things will quiet down a bit over Christmas.

I took my injection yesterday so officially started next is starting estrogen , prednisolone and Clexane on 7th Jan. I then have to fly to Sydney on 11th Jan for intrapilids and we leave on the 16th... It's going to be busy.

Sooty, so sorry to read your news I will be emailing you. I bet the rise in numbers was from IVF

Hi everyone else hope everyone is well
