    Default Childcare

    To cut a long story short, I have to put my 2 children in full time day care in about 2 weeks. This is breaking my heart but I have to do what I have to do. I have a 2.5 year old and a 3.5 month old. I think my 2.5 year old will be ok and it will be beneficial to him but I'm so upset for my 3.5 month old. I never thought I would have to put my baby in so young.

    I am just wanting to hear about others experiences with putting their children into care. How did it affect them? How about a baby as young as 3.5 months? Does anyone have any tips on how to make this easier for my baby? Any advice will be helpful. Thank you.

    I'm sorry you have to do this, but obviously you need to and unfortunately that's life sometimes isn't it?

    I went back to work when my dd was 5 months old, but only part time and my Mum had her when I worked. Honestly it was hard on me (guilt & sleep deprivation) but she was fine. She's done really well separation anxiety wise (until recently, but that's cause we've had major life changes - she's 2 in a few weeks, so not a bub anymore) and generally she's been a very relaxed bub. I also went back to full time work when my ds (#1 child) was 12 months old and I found that hard emotionally & physically but despite me working very long hours for 3 years we remained very close and very well bonded (at the time it didn't make sense, but it was very real) and we remain that way (I stopped full time work 2.5 years ago when I was pregnant with #2).
