    Default Healthy snack ideas??

    Hi everyone...

    I am looking for some healthy snack ideas that are yummy & aren't too difficult/expensive to make??

    I cook healthy dinners, but struggle with snacking... Would love your ideas/help?

    Do you mean for kids or your self ?

    Some snacks my kids like...

    -Fruit
    -Vegie sticks and hummus
    -Pizza toast, bread with pizza sauce herbs ad cheese, you can add finely chopped capsicum and zuchinni too.
    -Crackers, cruskits
    -Arrowroot or marie biscuits
    -Pretzels and popcorn
    -Dry cereal and dried fruits
    - Boiled egg with rye toast for dipping
    - Yogurt
    - Savoury muffins
    - Fruit muffins
    - Banana bread
    - Pikelets

    I made up a cup of hummus last week and spent the week snacking on it with veg sticks. When you make it yourself you can add as little oil as you like.

    for who?
    i dont snack at all. i eat 3 square meals and dont feel the urge.
    My kids graze all day
    i always have a plate of fresh (sometimes canned if not much fresh variety) out for them to help themselves.
    banana bread is a hit here so are cheese and chive muffins along with cheese and vegemite scrolls. All these freeze really well so i have a cooking day where i make batches for the freezer and just have to pull them out when i want.
    raisin bread
    dried fruit
    plain pop corn (make it yourself with no oil, air popped)
    rice cakes
    rice crakers
    yoghurt
    hard boiled eggs
    carrot and cucumber sticks with simple home made tzikki dip. (i add LOTS of garlic)

    I bake things like zucchini slice, savoury muffins and low sugar banana bread which helps with snacking.

    Mainly me... My son is only 4 months, so not at the snacking stage. I find cause I'm busy during the day I snack a lot rather than sitting down to a proper meal.

    Nuts - a handful of almonds or walnuts
    Rice cakes with avocado or almond butter
    Carrot sticks with tzatziki or guacamole
    Protein or bliss balls
    Goji berries
    Air popped popcorn ( not microwave)
    Low GI fruit like apples or peaches
    Antipasto grazing plate with olives, sun dried tomatoes, roasted capsicum , cheese
    Smoothies - add fruit or veg and yogurt

    Carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes are my fav snack, quick and easy and can make a couple days worth.
