It also comes in July 1 2015.
Does anyone honestly believe this will happen? His own party aren't behind the scheme.

I'll let you know what is happening in the coming weeks. I can say with absolute certainty that not all the jobs that are being cut in the public service are going to be lost through natural attrition. People are bracing for the worst in Canberra.

If the tax free threshold is changed back to $6k then I will be adversely affected as I have a very low income (I work part time).

    Me too.

I think it is a terrible move for pensioners, single parents etc.

I think it's incredibly sad that as a nation all we care about these days is "what's in it for me?" and "I only care if I'm directly affected". We have become so selfish, petty and narrow-minded, I am truly saddened. $3.8 billion of foreign aid cuts is atrocious. "stop the boats" is disgraceful. As one of the best-off nations in the world, being unwilling to help others and share all that we have says it all really.

This is a thread to express concerns about things that might happen. Not a 'show me your proof' thread.

This man did promise that one of the first things he would do is reintroduce the ABCC to make things difficult/impossible for the builders' union. And he will. This wouldn't be the first time a union is destroyed under a Liberal Government.

My mother was put on a shocking AWA years ago, and there is a possibility this could happen again. She is not well, and both of my parents are very low income earners...any changes to her employment could be extremely detrimental. If you don't know anyone who earns between $6-$18k you are pretty lucky TBH. I mean that genuinely.

their expensive proposal for the NBN using copper wiring, which will need to be updated soon is just a complete waste of money. It is pointless.

none of this will affect me personally but I am worried about those I care about and I don't see why this is an issue TBH. Everybody is entitled to their own feelings.

We have a high income do might not be affected. I didn't vote for libs because their cuts to education, which will affect ds, even more so because he is in a little regional school. Climate change affects us too and is not something that should be ignored. I'm also genuinely worried about the refugees

I think it's incredibly sad how greeeeedy large corporations have become. They are sending jobs overseas and sending a lot of Australians out of work. It will have a flow on effect. I don't think anyone really feels safe in their job and this is why consumer spending is down. I can't see how this can be sustainable long term. I don't see how Abbott can create 2 million jobs. Companies are operating on profits before people. CEOs are controlling the world not the Government. The future of the western world really scares me. What is to happen to our kids? What future will they have?
