Default When to start FET after a D&C......

Unfortunately I had a blighted ovum at 8 weeks....I had a D&C on Wednesday and now I'm just waiting...recovering...waiting until I can book in my last frosty. How soon after a D&C can we do a FET? I've been reading it's best to wait a cycle or 2 but anyone out there been thru this???

Sorry to hear about your D&C, hope you are resting and recovering well.

I have been in your shoes, almost exactly in fact. I'll give you a run down of what I did.

I had a D&C on 30 December 2009 after finding out I had a blighted ovum at 6 weeks. In early Jan 2010 I started acupuncture in the hope of my AF coming back as soon as possible. I had 4 sessions of acupuncture over 4 weeks and on 31 January my AF returned. I contacted my FS and she was happy for me to do a FET straight away. I continued with acupuncture for 2 weeks, then had an FET on 19 February, where I had a session of acupuncture pre and post transfer, then a session each week of the 2ww. In early March I got a BFP (my HCG levels were 1380 at 16 DPO). The other thing I did during that cycle was that I used progesterone pessaries from the time of transfer (I had 2 previous FETs were I didn't use any progesterone or any acupuncture, so I am not sure which one, if any, made the difference).

So it was about 7 weeks from my D&C to my FET.

All the best, I hope you have a successful transfer next cycle.

Thanks so much for your reply! I can't imagine how long it's going to take to get my cycle back on track. I've been doing back to back fresh cycles, with one ending in OHSS, 2 BFN FET and then the last fresh cycle I got my BFP which ended in the blighted ovum. All since January this year....We are TTC our third baby! Who would have thought the third time would be the hardest! My first two kids were conceived both on the first fresh cycle...no dramas at all! I'm going to definitely look into Acupuncture! thanks again

My sister had a DnC, I think in Oct. She had a light period in Dec and thought everything was back to normal. Then nothing for 2 months. She ended up in excruciating pain (sorry not trying to scare you!!) when her period came and she passed a giant fist sized clot. I think it must have been retained product or something. After that things went back to normal and she was able to cycle again.

So I think it's best to wait 2 cycles so you can be sure everything is right. I know it's hard but you don't want to waste any embryos on a uterus that can't take it.
